Rally on Robson - Sunday, March 2nd
What a wicked time! We had the loudest setup on all of Robson! It was awesome to see people dancing in the streets and even more wicked to have those B-Boys puttin on a show in the store which created massive crowds outside the door. Those two 10-year old boys were crazy and that 40-year old pop-and-locker guy was awesome as well.
Thanks again to Luscious Lisa who dropped a crazy set... had people stopping in the streets to check out who this hottie was that was playin sicko tunes behind the decks. Thanks to Lex - nice set dude... it was wicked to hear you place some House! Thanks to Omega for all his help in getting things setup and of course, wicked playin with ya bro --- we rocked it!!! --- The crowds outside those doors were deep and dancin! Thanks to Lawrence for the use of his bro's SUV in picking up and dropping off all the gear... and for bringin April by. :kimmie: And of course, thanks to all those that came out... too many to list but it was good to see you all through-out the day. Peace. |

Fun times guys/gals...nice seeing a few familiar faces.
Played some of the softest material in the crate. Couple funny moments with little kids dancing, guys trashing store ornaments, picture taking, phone # giving and record speedups. All in all a fun day. Cheers fORM |

Those 2 little kids were great. The one that did the worm around the clothing rack there was funny... although it looked like he was running out of steam by time he reached that last bend...hahaha
Good on you guys for throwing that whole thing together. Not only did you provide another fun element to the festivities already going on but I bet you exposed a lot of people to a form of music they had never head before. Everything went smooth, no problems, you made us all look GOOD! Congrats on an ace job Kraig!! |

^Werd... no problem at all. I had a good time anyways.
I think stuff like this should happen more. The only way we can move our little scene forward is by getting people to understand what we're all about. What you put together showed them a little bit of what we are. You showed them the music, the dancing, the friendliness, and the skill (spinning I mean). Some people are so misconstrued to the fact that we AREN'T all about drugs etc... I'm not gonna go so far as to say there aren't drugs around but for the people who are around for the right reasons its not a primary focus for us. As far as I'm concerned you deserve big props for having the drive to throw this up. You had thousands of people check you out and they've probably never seen turntables used like that before! They all walked away saying to themselves "Well my word! Hugh.... that was certainly NOT like playing my old Barry Manilow records!" "You're right dear, but I haven't seen you shake your booty like that since 1976 doing the hustle!" |

It was REALLY kewl seeing the variety of age groups that were checking out the setup. Tons of 40-60 olds would just stand and watch whoever was spinning. They were blown away that the medium we were using was vinyl!
Thanks for the props though... it was totally worth the time and energy to do what we did. Bluenotes wants us back to do it again! |
