Fest of Ether review
Overall it was a pretty good party, but a bit low on numbers to start with. Dowlznick played a wicked set, plenty of large raving tunes. Pity the party got shut down half way through his 90 minutes. I thought my set went down ok, Sidewinder by Photek got a big reaction from the crowd. The sound in the jungle room was pretty small, since when does house need a bigger rig than drum n bass? :toasted:
Thanks to Tanya, Emile and Brodie for getting me down again. |

Yea, good party guys! FINALLY a place where I actually had enough space to dance...I was worried a little about that especially since my bud is in a wheelchair...I liked it though except for two little things...I think that the jungle and house rooms should of been reversed...(There were waay more people in the smaller room) and, no offence to the guy with the massauge tables but he probably shouldn't set them up in the center of the dance floor. (It was okay when there weren't that many peeps there but it became annoying when more people showed up and these two chair thingies take up space in the center)...Other than that it was pretty fun, I got to dance quite a bit and the friends I brought both had a wicked time! Nice to see Dalyn and Bev again. *HUGS* hehe...someone totally busted me on why I can spin on my knees so easily...oh well...good times!
Oh yea...stupid police ruining all the fun!!!! grrrr... |

I had a really good time! Everyone seemed pretty friendly and relaxed, the sound was decent in the second room (you could only REALLY feel the bass if you were sitting on the couches on the side, next to the DJ booth, though).
I think the police need to sort their priorites out. Busting a roomful of people who are barely smoking any weed, being civil, and having a great time at reasonable volume at 4:20 on 4/20 seems like a bullshit Hollywood-wannabe muscle flex to me. I think there are probably better things they could be doing, but whatever makes them feel macho. :finger: I especially liked the female officer who reamed out Dowlznick - I hope she had fun practicing that speech of hers in the mirror before she came out. Good party while it lasted though - big up to the promoters who had things together, and the DJ's were very good as well. Dowlznick, even though he was cut short, played some really nice tunes. Pity I didn't get to play - I was looking forward to it, and the crowd hadn't really thinned at all. Would've been fun! Last edited by psidream; Apr 20, 03 at 01:54 PM. |

Yah, there was basically nothing there when you guys were there/left, and it took a couple hours but it filled up pretty nicely. Not too packed, not too empty. Don't ask me to make an estimate :p But there was quite a decent amount of people. I'm glad I decided to stick it out and stay.
Courtney, all of you guys looked so bummed when you left, like you were all sad or something haha. Except Bev, she was all bubbly and stuff :P |
