man the music and set upo in the mainrooms was dope...i loved the lazers, thats exactly what i like to see. what can i say, the production quality was pretty dope, especially the sound, it was nice and loud and crisp, i haven't ever heard a system that pounded that well at the plaza in a long long time.
dj morgan, brroklyn bouce and jasper jones all were laying down dope sets and the main roiom went off. quite frankly the theatre room blew, that place should remain a disco/house area only, its usally my favourittee place to be, but not this time. the bc room was dope and the lighting/spund set up there was pretty dope too. that was a dope rave...ill deffintily be at imf |

Wicked ass party, people wize. Id give shout outs but....yeah.
Capital J's set was fucking INSANE, a massive hello to all that were up at the front with me the entire time. Baby Ann was kickin it up there too.(could you guys be any more horny?) tisk. How many of you were stalking her? Oh Funky Man (loved the track suit). highlight: Jon.......meet Helen.....Helen remember Jon? haha *sigh* Fusion seemed so much shorter, lets just hope the next party doesn't have as many fights. An excellent party, I was there for the setup at 6pm, went home and slept for a bit, then came back at midnite to work until the last speaker left the plaza around 1pm on sunday!
As everyone has been saying the sound quality was excellent - one of the main reasons for that is dj's knowing how to use a Pioneer 600 mixer properly. If the 600 looks like a christmas tree and all the EQ lights are staying on constantly your going to distort and distort big time, especially your bass-this is what people complain about when the bass is distorting and mids and highs sound muddy. However a DJ not familiar with a 600 might not know this...especially if they use something else that is processes sound more clearly (Rane, Allen & Heath) and can push the redline more. To use a 600 properly your EQ's should be flashing and barely getting into the redline IF at all. (keep the gains so they are around 7db - and the master output in the green to keep sounding crisp). That was a bit off topic but i know it will help someone in the future, that way you wont have me harassing you saying your distorting at a party :) This was my first party since I've been back in BC, and although i was "working" i had a great time hitting up a massive - i never thought i'd miss the plaza but we are lucky to have one of the swankiest venues in Canada. Favourite sets of the night Capital J and Matty Mids and watching Ricey attack Baby Anne for a picture. Quote:
Winston, I will personally make sure to keep a box of 9v batteries at every party for you from now on :y: Shoutouts - way too many especially after being away so long and seeing so many people - for those i'm supposed to get ahold of, talk to ya soon, and for those supposed to get ahold of me, i'll be sleeping for a few days. I have to say though, my favourite part of the entire event is after when all you ravers have gone home. A few of you stick around and search the floors looking for whatever you can find until you get chased out. Then after you leave the Plaza of Nations cleaning staff gets to work searching for whatever you've lost and trying on jackets left at the coat check :P (I found 4 dollars and dippity do hair gel in the BC room:)) Pics coming soon! |

AHH!!! people need to learn more respect...
i have one statment to goto all of the peeps that "hate ravers" if you hate ravers so much... WHY GOTO A FUCKIN RAVE THEN?!?!?!? just because there is a jungle/breaks room dosent meen that all of the sudden your not at a rave... YOU ARE STILL THERE ALL NIGHT IN THE SAME BUILDING, AT THE SAME EVENT, WITH THE SAME TICKET!!! learn to be at peace! and have some damn respect |

I had a pretty damn good time. Capital J's set stole the night for me though, his mixes were so tight and he was doing alot of things ive never seen done so well before. He knows how to work a crowd too. Couldnt stop shaking my ass the whole time ;) Precise had a dope set as usual... I agree with sean that the theater could have used some more funk. I missed the funk. Baby Anne was pretty good, nothing amazing. She looked pretty pissed for her whole set.
Adam and cinto had a good set, Adam we should jam sometime for sure. Send me a pm sometime and we can figure out a good time for both of us. |

looked like not as much work was put into this party compared to twisted. but the djs at fusion were fuckin dope. capital js set was fuckin dope, i just wish i could keep up, speed garrage is my favourite. got sold crap fuckin e by some dude named money or somethin. e called blue mercedes or somethin, so don't buy it. jesus, not only was it crap, it was 15 bucks a piece. my buddy even had like a bad trip.
other complaint: where the hell were all the girls?!!.. man, so many fuckin guys, the security ended up making 3 of the 4 lineups for gettin checked specifically for guys, and only one of them was for girls. which means the ratio of guy:girl must've been around 3 to 1. i saw one of the dude's that got beat up. that's scary shit,.. i can just imagine how it happened. some dude gets pissed off cause some other dude is dancing with his girl; starts beatin the shit outta him; bunch of guys all fucked on e see the guy gettin beats and say to themselves, "hey that looks fun!".. turns into a gangstomp.. cause that guy didn't just get beat by one guy. oh well, all i can say, is be careful. |

Capitol J was the highlight of the night. If you didn't enjoy his high energy jungle then you could at least appreciate his complete control over the turntables AND the crowd. I loved banging and smashing to his set.....anyone right at the front during his set , u know what im talkin about.
It was a great party.. and it just goes to show you that awesome djs can outwiegh the lesser production cost for a party. Brian.. "Oh FunkY" tix 4 sale.....CHEAP!! 469-8450 |

I had a pretty good time. Anyone who caught Morgan in the main room... what did you think? I'm a hardhouse/NRG fan anyweays and I thought his set fuckin blew up! When he played 'Up to no good' I was in raver fuckin heaven!
The BC room was killer too. I though Baby Anne played a great set (seems most of you disagree though) despite the fact that she looked bored and pissed off most of the time. Capital J was so unbelievably fuckin dope I can't even put it into words. I've never ever heard jungle/DnB spun that fucking hard in my life. Keeping up was work but it was fun as hell too! Overall the production was pretty good. I liked the lasers in the main room. And to top off my night I made a new rave buddy !!! He knows who he is... we talked about war, racism, kids, the 'scene', and business. We're the best friends ever now.... don't you just love raves and drugs!! :c-tard: |

Good times indeed...
Props to The Shy Bros and Uh-Oh for a great show... My brutha's Cint-HO and Omega layed down a pretty funk-ay set... Precise did an awesome job as well. I wasn't impressed with Baby Anne's set at all - I was expecting a lot more. So rather than waste that time, I went up to the theatre room to catch Christian Alvarez's set which was crazy! Dennis Trance seemed to also have the theatre room going off and Gerald... quite the funky house set you played man! -- Nice work! Hopefully some of ya can make it out to Frisky as CAK is gonna be layin down some crazy-ass stuff! |

aside from the sound which was good, better than most, that party had the shittiest production i have ever seen.
just in terms of lighting and decoration there was NOTHING in the bc room or theatre. c'mon shy brothers, put some effort into it. the monitor cut out halfway through capital j's set and it remained unfixed throughout the rest of the night! where the techie to fix shit like that? now this brings me to the theatre room. what a joke. that had the most ghetto production values ever. no lights, no decorations, the sound was so quiet, the dj "stage" was just a tiny set of scaffolding. i have actually seen more decorations, lights, sound, and way better dj stage at the Korean! aside from christian and jelos house sets, what was with having trance djs spin old 'house" tracks?? honestly... so dissapointing. form and kaos had to spin so early in the night and then at the prime moments in the party we had tazix (a great trance dj for sure) playing house/trance!? gerald spun a great house set.... and jaimo had the corwd going, but it was the main room crowd and music in the theatre.... and in terms of decoration teh room was totally empty. if you're going to throw a plaza party, don't alienate all the funk fans in vancouver! another thing, what was with all the headlining djs liek brooklyn bounce and blank and jones (or was it just...blank?) spinning on the small stage in the main room, and then the shy brothers playing on the big stage?? hahah hilarious... |

BC Room/ my home base Put on a good show, Baby Anne! Capital J! and lets give praise to the best in local Dj's!, theater Room, woo! it was a lil nippy but better than the ravers sauna that it normally is, mellow house was not that I had in mind to start the night off but it did pick up. Who ever is opening the theater room next party has to spin that "Cow bell" track that was used to open up twisted!. cool beans see you all at oh funky and those who can make it out to blumpys beats! plur Junior |

I have to say I had a great night. I stayed in the main room all night, except when I was running around draggin someone with me. :D
Oh. My. God. That Mr. Vain remix made my freaking night. That was RAD. Although, Brooklyn Bounce's set wasn't exactly what I had in mind, it was still great, and I really enjoyed Jasper Jones' set too. |
