tiesto was amazing, he had everyone, including myself, in the palms of his hands. I havent heard that tight of a set in quite a lond time. although there were alot of barstars who just got in the way on the dance-floor, me and some friends made our own litte one in the far corner. i have not danced so hard, EVER, i think i might have lost at leased 10 pounds. and of coarse today, my body is paying for it. all in all, one of the best shows ive ever seen
thanx, james |

my friend has been waiting to see him for 3 years and wanted to get a picture of him or even with him. The club owners asked my friend to coat check his camera at 10pm. My friend was really dissappointed. I dont get why there so anal about it.
My friend ended up buying a t-shirt. It said God is a DJ, and his name is Tiesto |

Whats so godly about a dj that mixes records. Sure he produces, and is a great mixer and all that.....but thats ALL he does in a set. Mix. To me thats boring. The turntable can be such a diverse instrument, and to just use it to play records is boring to me. dance to the trance i guess. |

I think Beat matching/EQ mixing is takes no tallent & can be mastered by anyone with time, kinda like riding a bike. I notice people usually pay to see these out of town headliners cause of the tracks they produce and not theyre mixing skills. In return they rarely play the tracks that they make, or perform live P.A sets. My advise to people is if you wanna see good dj's look around Vancouver and save your self x-amount of cash on an import name. Last edited by houserawka; Jun 09, 03 at 01:48 AM. |

Wanna become bigtime? Save all that dj practice time, and put it into the studio instead. Then when you finally do make a big track, practice like mad for a month and then go out and do an international tour, and get billed as this great dj (but who has trouble beatmatching.) To all those dj's coming up...dont think because you can put together a 74 minute mix, all beatmatched and sounding good, that you have "skill's." You just put in enough practice. Try and think of the possibilities in creativity you have at your disposle, instead of just playing a track for 5 minutes and then mixing. |

Tiesto came , and kicked ass....his track selection was perfect, his mixing was seamless, and he read the crowd perfect. Now sure maybe he only played on a set of turntables , and cd mixers, he did great, as for seeing him with doing live pa or any other big name for that matter - Vancouver has a small scene in relation to about 1000 other places in the world - I mean really... a club or "rave" with 10000 people would get a live pa set - why - cause the club puttin it on would have that there for them- where as at the commedore as great as it is -it isn't much - therfore seeing him play a set with records and cd's was good enough, and he did a wicked job...I would say worth every penny i spent on the ticket.

Flailing to pre-recorded tracks I love is one thing... doing so on the fly as they create the sound is undescribable. |

couldnt agree more. This being a post about Tiesto's performance, it's good to hear he put on a good show and people had a blast! I saw him a few years ago at Sweet Gets Wicked, and he played a rockin set at the PNE Last edited by houserawka; Jun 09, 03 at 06:29 PM. |

tiesto was amazing, i danced all night, his track selection was sick. EVERY single build up had me going. it was like i'm so hot i gotta sit for a sec, then 2 seconds later i was going off again. me and the 4 buddies i went with all had a phenomenal time. it was definitely worth it.
btw to the 'dj' people. I DON'T GIVE A FUCK. i'm there to listen to good music and have a good time. i could care less about the technical aspects of djing. so sowwy. |

God when are you people going to shut up with the "wah wah wah all he does is play records" bullshit? No shit that's all he does, if you don't like that don't see him, and don't complain that other people are perfectly content to see a performer do nothing more than that.
Yes, Tiesto's set didn't take amazing amounts of skill. Yes, given the same records/cds there are 20,000 people on this planet that could have given a similarly well mixed performance. But guess what, there aren't many others with the same records/cds. People go see Tiesto because they know he's going to drop amazing trance that only a handful of DJs around the world could match. By the sounds of it his programming was great, the production was great, the energy was insane, and overall it was a great show. On an unrelated note, Grayarea fucking rule Hammered, wish I could have gone down and seen them too. I've yet to see a Live PA show, would be sweet =) |

Amazing! I was felt like some of the crazy people I used to go to church with and the way they would go off there! It came at a very tough time in my life as my girlfriend and I have been going through a break up. It helped my summer start off a lot better than it would have otherwise! Thanks Tiesto

Seeing Greyarea go off bigtime and then Deepsky a couple of hours later made the trip worth it. If Chicane, Chemical Brothers orCrystal Method can come do a live show that'll be so sweet. |
