I'm sure DA Prods did a great job of promoting for this event but before everyone gets sore hands patting these guys on the back, Yeah we did a decent job, considering some of the factors we had to deal with I'd like to point out that this party almost didn't happen because the proprietors of Here On Earth didn't want to rent the space to DA. It seems that after their immensely successful (and no doubt profitable) History of Breaks show the folks at DA couldn't see fit to compensate Here On Earth for 289$ worth of damages to the venue that resulted from their show. Yeah about that.... The kind people at H.O.E. thought that we had made a considerable amount of money on this event. So they took it upon themselves to make up an imaginary list of damages done to thier ever so lovley venue. Basically trying to milk us for more money..... Anybody that wonders if maybe it was just a misunderstanding would probably want to know why then did Mikey take off like a frightened schoolgirl in his(Mommies?) Lincoln Towncar, when approached by the H.O.E. staff. 1) It's not my moms whip... 2) I was never approched, more like four crackhead hippie junkies started to run after me. 3) If i would've stopped the car, got out, it would've been a very interesting situaltion. One that you or any of the others HOE's wouldn't want to deal with.... trust me It was also strange that everyone setting up the party last night went to great lengths to distance themselves from DA. ...... ? I realize that the "entertrainment" industry is riddled with dubious dealings but I think a little honesty,-respect and integrity- would make things a great deal easier. On a side note, a little professionalism and intelligence would also make things easier... PS: when attempting to take a blow at my company, check simply things like your spelling. It makes you look dumb. Now, if we could only get the V.P.D. to back off. They'll start to back off as soon as people stop running illegal cracked out afterhours, and stop serving liqour without any kind license and or permit. :keebler: |

funny. when you pay a damage deposit on a venue, that means that small fabricated damages like the ones you tried to charge us are covered under that deposit. Young business people dont always = stupid business people. Remember that next time you try and rip someone off. |

Sunny Cheeba, I think his name was, played a really smart set. good flow, good mixes, and awsome tracks. Jon The Dentist, was a bit too bland in the way of flow, but hey at his time slot every one is fucked on drugs any way and can not fallow flow. Really good tracks, mixing was really good on some, and meh on others. hmmmm to think of it he pulled out some killer tracks that worked the room well. |

I had a great time here, actually kind of made me feel like I was back in a dingy little UK club goin' off. 'Tho I have to wonder how it felt for some of the DJs like JtD - last time he was here he played Plaza @ Kiss, if I recall...and all of a sudden he's in a small, cookin' hot room spinning for 300-ish people...and then off to spin @ Utopia in the great outdoors of BC...I'm sure he can say he's seen it all in Vancouver now. So many little things helped make my night, but most of them wouldn't have occurred with the aid and assistance of Amber / Thorn, to whom I give many thanks...I totally owe U one, babe...even tho we must have lost each other at some point in the night cuz I looked around for U at about 4 and U had vanished...no prob tho, I was expecting it...hehe. |

What a night!!!
Props to DA for the sweet venue and their fast and furious organizational skillz to get this event on track! On the way in we were greeted by a guy from Diesel Rave Productions in the lot, who offered a heartfelt apology for the felled Rythym Nation production. I felt terrible for the guy, he had the 1000 metre stare like he had gone through a major disasater, life savings gone... I could see why. Ouch. Undaunted we continued on into what I can only describe as a sick ass party! :c-tard: Sweet vibes felt all round for those of us that braved & survived the HoE Oven all night. Condensation dripping off the ceiling, sweaty ravers all round, it doesn't get any better than this!:364: Tatiana: EZ on the eyes? :y: Skillz? :n: All the rest made up for RN IMHO. Well done! Happy Raving Everyone!! :rave: |

I'd hate to whip a dead horse but I would like to refute a few statements made by Mikey in response to my earlier post.
1)So they took it upon themselves to make up an imaginary list of damages done to thier ever so lovley venue. Basically trying to milk us for more money..... -H.O.E. staff made repeated attempts to talk to anyone from DA in the months following The History of Breaks. If the list of damages was imaginary surely the onus was on DA to dispute them. They didn't. 2) I was never approched, more like four crackhead hippie junkies started to run after me. -I'm sure that the H.O.E. staff that approached Mikey in his? car would be more than willing to submit to a drug test if Mikey would care to put his money where his mouth is. 3) PS: when attempting to take a blow at my company, check simply things like your spelling. It makes you look dumb. -Wow what a clever thing to say Mikey, I checked back through your post and managed to count no less than four spelling errors. I guess by your own words you look pretty dumb! 4) They'll start to back off as soon as people stop running illegal cracked out afterhours, and stop serving liqour without any kind license and or permit. - Anyone whose been to parties at H.O.E. and kept their eyes open would be aware that we have a strrict -No hard drugs- policy. Jeez, was someone selling alcohol at the make-up party? |

PS I do agree he moved the room more then any other DJ, in part by some of the killer tracks, inpart by his rep and what people expected, and then also because of time slot. But I don't think he put as much effort in to his set this time as I've heard before. |

BTW who really did this party? Money and crew, or DA? who else claims they did it? Why tell HOE that it was not a DA show if it was? dude that makes me look bad for so called lying to them when I talked HOE in to taking the nights rental. (ie lining up the venue for Money was what I thought I was doing) I'm kinda hurt my self. (not pissed off though cause it was a killer show)
Can you guys for DA, work some thing out with the HOE about patching things up? PS I did sound, lighitng for a killer discount that night... It was to be my week end off to spend time with Joe, and relax for the next week end aug 1-4 I have to work. But I just wanted to do killer visuals for some big names... I had fun. Thanks to every one. |

I wasn't @ this party... but have been to a few at HOE before.... i've noticed signs posted about a no cocaine policy... but i've never noticed it posted about any other kind of drug. And alcohol is not a "hard drug"... I'm not saying it isn't a drug, but definitely not what i would consider a "hard drug".

[b] I'll make it plain and simple. Us at DA throw a great show (history of breaks.) We pay you ALL of the money you request including damage deposit. After the show, when you figure out that we made good money, you make up a huge list of basically BS damages. Even if they were real damages, they were covered under the damage deposit. After you came to us with this BS, we chose to ignore it. What would be the point of trying to argue? We already paid the deposit. We're not just going to HAND OVER money for NO reason. This is the last DA will respond to you. Leave the dead horse dead. |
