ƒORM is on a distinguished road
Making Doh3 better

  • Weather-It's an act of god on how hot or cold it's gonna be and the coldness and wetness sure didn't help
  • Stages- I thought the huge bandshell at Doh1 was much better than little stages scattered here and there. The breaks stage was on a slope.
  • Info-site&Dj's- Sometimes making a website describing the party and having a few samples of the what the dj's play is the way to go. It's hard to cough up money to go and see performers you've never heard about. Take for instance Da Hool, i talked to a lot of people who had no idea what kinda music they made or spun. If you have an annual party to promote you need to make it exciting year in, year out. Keeping the same recipe is like eating the same sandwiches everyday or hiking the same trail again and again.
  • Gimmicks-I noticed that Doh 3 lacked any Gimmicks of any kind. I think a combination of performers and acts draw people and doh3 forgot to add any. There were no fire-walkers, jugglers, bouncy castles, slip&slides, clowns, trapeez artists or anything. All i saw was pot-smokers, e-flailers, mud-gods and cop-impersonators.
  • Location-Complaint: 1 hr drive. Thought: Is it me or are new locations becoming scarce? I mean when's the last time you partied at a new 3 giant room warehouse with lots of cold running water and bathrooms? Seems like the Native land is about the only place to throw parties. I think all the promoters should get together and fund a giant rave center on native land and design it exactly how they want it. Add all the ammenities and include a surplus of fire exits, bathrooms, sprinklers and soundproofing. I mean take the losses from all the promoters and start buliding instead of flushing the cash down the toilet on disaster parties. One big building designed to hold 3000ppl and the Native kids can have a rec center in the meantime.
  • No giveaways-Run a contest of some sort. Send a lucky ticket holder to Ibizia or something. Include that in the fancy website. I mean if you're expecting to draw 3000ppl can't you pick out a prize for 1 0r 2 lucky winners?

I'm sure I'll think of a few more reasons...

Any thoughts anyone?

I agree in a few ways there form. Sadly gimicks really SHOULDNT BE NEEDED! People should want to come to see the talent, that should be the only "gimick" needed. But now a days, it seems parties need "gimicks" so, yeah, in that case they were lacking.

I have yet to party in some warehouse, so I can't really comment on that, best I have done it a one room shanty, or a plaza.

Hype killed this one, I think that all the hype left around after Doh'2 killed this party. Everyone ethor expected Doh'2 and got dissapointed, or knew it couldnt top Doh'2 and didnt show.

I have to agree with you Lex...it did lack a lot of things...and yes, it would have been better if there were less stages with talent that were more recognizable to the general public

There was no gimmicks, no attractions, no entertainment for the people to even be hyped about...most of all, no promotions for D'Oh or the party itself...

You can't expect the people to really enjoy an outdoor party with three plain stages that played really loud music all night long, right? That's where the sketchiness kicks in...There is nothing to occupy the people...nothing to see...nothing to really make you go, "Wow, this is a party I'm gonna remember for a long time"

This is just my opinion...hope I didn't offend anyone...the beats were great while I was there...but it could have been better if there was more to look at
