First Love (Feb 14 - Prince George)
Wow, was I ever impressed.
Prince George has an awesome scene. Period. It may be in a tiny town (pop. 70,000 I believe) , it may smell there (giant wood pulp mill.. much like the pleasant odors experienced when going over the Knight St bridge), and it may be -10 degrees (they said it was snowing lightly, but when we got off the plane it was snowing harder than i've seen it snow here all year), BUT those kids go off like there's no tomorrow. The venue was really nice. Actually I'd say it's one of the nicest small venues I've seen, much like the BC room at plaza, but with an actual stage, and no carpet or windows. There was a tight crowd of about 250, which to my understanding is pretty standard for PG. (500 is like a PNE party for them) Gerald schooled the crowd with some old school hard house styles, and I kept it going with some hard hitting trance. Needless to say, we represented Vancouver well that night. :) |

Yeah I was pushing the site to the promoters, so hopefully they will be doing promo and getting the PG crowd on here.
(forgot to mention the promoters. super nice people. They were very accomodating, and know how to throw a great party) |

I used to go up there all the time when Monte Martens and the Vinylution crew were throwing parties in PG, and they're some of the best parties by far, IMHO.
Most memorable being when they had a party "Chicks who Mix" and the special guest star was Scotty Oh, who we'd dressed up in a mumu and wig and sent him onstage as "DJ Trance-Sexual". :trippin: |
