Yeah, the plastic is definitely a drawback, but the numark has a much better motor than the tech 12 mark IIs and my babies stop on a dime. Also their base seems to be a lot more skip resistant than previous tech setups I've dealt with in the past like at Trance Theory. I hate wobbly decks!

TTX = toys
Techs = tools.

torque != everything
stopping quickly != useful (9x out of 10)

0.1% pitch resolution = shit.
accurate pitch control = a good thing

plastic = for azn cars
blue lights = for ricerockets

seems to me the same people that think imports with soupcans duct taped on the tailpipes are cool think TTX's work (that's my experience anyways)

Technics decks still rule, anything that lets you lock the tracks, go roll a joint, come back and have them still beatmatched beats the FUCK out of any little plastic toytables.

<edit>
They don't work for me, if they work for you and you can play better with them all the more power to you, but they're not better than 1200's.

^^ The man knows what's up.

DetN8R: Actually, the world of turntables does begin and end with the Techs. They started the whole thing, they'll still be kicking around when there's nuclear apocalypse and all that's left are Twinkie Factories.

hahaha, it's been said that the only things that will survive a nuclear blast are cockroaches, tech12's, jungle records and the crackheads that play them.

Greeny here.

yes, i have and i can't. as far as i can tell the 0.1% pitch resolution makes the minor adjustments necessary for long-term locking impossible. blowing on the pitch control of a tech 12 will change the speed.

are you implying that it's easy or difficult?
