Church Of Breaks 2 // I.M.F After Party
You are cordially invited to another crazy DAY of fun and friends.
SwiftBeats has lined up a wonderful spot in the great outdoors for another Sunday Church of Breaks Session! Those of you in attendance to the first please enlighten the rest. This time SwiftBeats have put more time and energy to make this a bigger and better event. We have planned around a drink friendly area, so please we encourage you to bring your refreshments along with BBQ'ables. As much as we would have loved to run this for free, SwiftBeats took a big hit from IFS this past weekend becuase of the police restricting people from entering the party most people eneded up geting in for free so this event will be $5 to help towards this months living cost becuase we lost it at IMF! This spot is not transit friendly. So please, if you have a vehicle, consider donating extra seating to friends and family. Checkpoint will be released later this week, it will be within Coq; however, this event is not in Coq. Wristbands will be issued at checkpoint, you will not be allowed to park unless all occupants are warring wristbands. Brutal security will be on strick duty; to ensure there are no weapons, sneaks and violence. Please PM SwiftBeats for any further questions.. DJ line up will be posted tomorrow. This show will be full of quality breaks, jungle, hip-hop and others! Last edited by SWIFTBEATS; Jun 30, 04 at 03:24 AM. |

yo
so far the confirmed dj line up is:
Global n Orbit - Jungle Akeel - Break beats Emmanuel Ferreira - Break beats Pegausus - Break beats and many more . For the people who dont know much about Emmanuel Ferreira heres some info.... DJ BIO: Emmanuel Ferreira Hometown: Montreal Que. Canada Location: Vancouver BC Canada Affiliations: POUND Recordings, Ground Level Productions, Fahrenheit Style: Breakbeat Info: Emmanuel has been an underground favorite in the breakbeat scene for years. He is recognized mostly for his unique track selection and superb mixing skill. His sound always manages to be refreshing and different, drawing from many influences such as Danny McMillan, Tipper, Precision Cuts, Bushwacka and Uberzone to name a few. His versatility is also astounding, creating the perfect atmosphere no matter what time of the night he plays. He became inspired to take up DJing after watching his local heroes Andrew Spence (fka legendary Vancouver breaks DJ SLIM) and Noodlez slam it down at many a party back in the day. Their take on breaks was different from the hip-hop influenced breakbeat being spun out at the time. He went out and bought his first two records (an ep from Rainbow Bridge and DJ Graeme's original mix of El Nino) and has been building his collection ever since. After causing a ruckus in the scene for a few years, he was signed to various labels/promotion companies, including Ground Level Productions in Victoria, BC Canada and POUND Recordings, a budding record label in his hometown of Vancouver. He became a resident at POUND Wednesdays, the longest running and most succesful breaks/drum and bass/Live PA night in the city. Soon after, he released his debut mix CD 'Homewrecka' in 2001.There was no turning back, as he realized from his success that this was more than an expensive hobby. The last year has been the most eventful and exciting in his career, having been booked overseas and playing a big role in pushing things forward within POUND's ranks. He followed up 'Homewrecka' in 2003 with 'Invisible Airline', a mix that propelled him into the international spotlight after it won the 'Searching by Sonar' contest on Nubreaks.com, the world's largest and most reknowned breakbeat website! (www.nubreaks.com; Emmanuel has since been appointed official judge of the contest) The future looks very exciting for this young lad, learning the ropes of production and pushing the breaks sound to a lot of eager Vancouverites while securing gigs abroad and building Vancouver's fledgling record label. Expect to hear more from this rising talent in the future! |
