Outbound Flight
We at Trance Army and Evolve want to thank everyone who came out to our party. It lasted right through the night until 5:30 am when we shut it down.
Our thanks to Deeb, Charlie 2NA, Vlado, Remeddie, Tazix and Luna for playing great sets of music. we also want to thank everyone who stuck with us through the bad times. I was insane for a while there. Seriously. Attila helped us throw together an outstanding light and soundshow, and dsl added cool visuals. One thing we did differently... The whole party went non-stop, because the djs had to mix into each other. That is how it should be done. Locals are not Johan Gielen. Locals do Not get to stop the record. The whole party is recorded (I believe) so for those of you who missed the party, The outbound flight live sessions will soon be available hopefully. I have to say, thanks to Alje, Dsl, Attila, Arash, Gary and the security guys, Tina, James and Stuckert, all the girls who worked the concession, all my friends who came out, and most importantly, Reeloop. Why reeloop? Because he kicks ass, nuff said. Last edited by AqvaYak; Jul 19, 04 at 06:16 AM. |

Wow, didnt get busted! Im surprised it went that long.
Anyways, I had a great time. Was dancing for a bit when Charlie2na was spinning (OMG! MY SONG!!) then decided to work the door, that was interesting. I got attacked by the stamper that we were using!!! hehe Security was being friendly, haha we lost one security who was making out with the girl during the job, haha. Attila and Shawn - I think you guys had way WAY too much fun with that laser! haha it was awsome though, I loved it when the laser hit the disco ball and then was shining down, YAY for that! All and all, good party. Excellent job guys! |

/yawn omfg i just woke up and took a shower to get all the RAVER sweat off me. I was there from just before 8pm. First person there for like 45min until DJ Coastal got there at 845.
I dont think anyone heard DJ-DSL Dude play, but once he put his phone down and started playing it was pretty damn good $. Charlie played a good house set although he train wrecked once in the beggining hehe. Deeb played some real tribal stuff to begin with, but the last 20min was kickin. I think it started with leath injection. Remeddie again started with some non-trance, but once he dropped that he was great. Valdoo, always a good set from him. Anyone hear When Love Comes Again?. DT8NR imo, but other said the opposite. Started weak and ended bangin. Others said started good and ended bad. Tazix, damn another good set by this guy. Very good music overall. The venue was SO hot. I was sweating just standing there. Great setup on the lights and visuals was actually a nice change of pace. How come no one was dancing until like midnight? It felt odd standing there with everyone along the walls. Next time if you choose that venue i would say have a max person in/out (like 6) and just move people along like that. Also sell glowsticks, i got that from a few people. A few shouts out but i never remember peoples name so: DJ Coastal / Noah's crew omg you guys left wayy too early got really good once Deeb stopped playing tribal haha oh well. Where were you ilovetechno? Tina and pals, good seeing you again $. The girl that came with DJ Deeb (ya i suck at names and forgot already) Only YOU! can teach newbies to dance. Major Props to the Trance Army (OXYMORON ha ha) guys! The DJ's were bangin all night long, it was a great idea Aqva to have the DJ's spin into each other.
I have to say when Vlado went on, the visuals went crazy. Had a lot of fun playing with that moving head laser, you are right tina, it was awesome!!! DSL dude, the TV was a magnificent idea, and deeb figured out the humming came from the computer monitor being on top of the amplifier. hahaha I'm very happy this party went well for the Trance Army guys, and they were able to find a great venue in Vancouver that did not get busted at all:) Thx to all who came out, and to the security ppl, and to the staff!!! |

I was fucking tired as hell I went home and slept for an hour then wandered out into the night again I had been up since friday morning 9am. :\ pushing 48 hours is unacceptable - the head was too much for the sleepyness. But I did come out and show my support to alje and all the other trance heads. :D I hope you guys ended up filling up the place. I'm sorry I couldent have stayed longer Joop - Act of god :y: and yes, where was iluvtechno? I looked. I left without my knuckles bleeding, shame on you Mr. techno. well, next time perhaps. :) |

Definately a long and tiring night... but it paid off, YES, the laser was too much fun.
too bad almost all of you missed my set from like 8-9.. I dropped a couple excellent tracks... oh well, too early for ravers anyways :P So the story behind the visuals... We originally had planned to have a projector.. The person bringing the projector forgot it infront of his front door in coquitlam as he stepped out for the party... DOH!... I was soo choked when he arrived and realized he forgot it... Luckily the venue had a bigscreen tv sitting up at the back of the stage, so I set that up... Not quite as big as a projection on the wall, but it did the job. Thanks for all the positive comments on the visuals, I put a huge amount of time over the last week prepping all those music videos and programming them to mix together. Even getting a live video camera of the DJ up on the screen was really cool to see, especially at a small party Glad everyone had a good time Last edited by dSl-DuDe; Jul 19, 04 at 05:32 AM. |

My set was fun, couple difficulties, wrecked at the beggining. Also wrecked when the monitor cut out in the middle of a transition and when Darren bumped the decks while holding a pizza, haha. Otherwise it was a fun time, good job guys on your first party.
p.s. I didn't mean to play that mix of Pasilda, it was an accident to play one of the biggest house anthems of all time to an empty crowd, lol. |

Wooh, what a night! Yah, Peter, I was stressed for a while, but things eventually calmed down, once I stopped sketching about the venue's lack of a CURRENT event license, lol. Anyway, the party ended up pretty vibey. A big thank you to all the trance heads, fnkers, everyone that came out and supported. This was a nice tight party. Sorry this party couldn't have been bigger, but on such short notice with our original venue shut down 24 hours BEFORE, we were extremely lucky to get this venue at all, although the larger capacity made it look rather empty early on. Those of you who missed Charlie 2NA missed an outstanding funkalicious set. Deeb threw down the tribal trance nicely and ended it banging, thank you guys for being such good sports about playing early, you guys rocked it regardless! Eddie, Vlad, wicked good fun listening to you guys while on cop-watch outside. Eddie, was that speed garage I heard you play? Pure....sickness. Vlad, thank you for coming out for this show, we'll see if we can get your whole Serbian posse to show up next time ;) Dennis as always rocked the place, starting off mellow, then getting extra funky. Bryan/Luna, way to end the show man, you truly are best at closing sets, your prog trance had people moving even right to the bitter sweet end.
A HUGE thank you to everyone that helped out and made this show possible. A lot of effort went into overcoming the hiccups surrounding this party, ie the date change, the loss of two venues, and other general bs surrounding raves. Thank you security, Dan, Gary, Matthias, Arash, you guys were great and you have to be the friendliest guys I met that night, also very on the ball, I might add. Thanks for keeping the party alive :) And where would I be w/o lil Tina working door like the pro she is. Thank you so much hon, and yes, you can have my illegitimate child :p Attila, buddy, we could not have pulled this off w/o your help and guidance, you truly are Yoda and, yeah, okay, I concede....LASERS ARE COOL! Shawn/DSL/Deezel, we couldn't have asked for better tech support dude, Masterplan doesn't know who they neglected to hire, cuz you know about twice what some of those guys could ever hope to know about setting up a show, props on a wicked light show and the visuals which were stellar even w/o the projector. Melissa, Kimmi, thank you so much for handling concession, you guys did a great job, water 3/$5! Rob, Sean/Aqva, James, and James' buddy (sorry I forgot your name bro :O ), thanks so much for doing takedown. That cleanup was done in record time! Thanks again to everyone who came out, there are too many to shout out to, but to all my friends (old and new) thank you once again. |

Had a fun time. Met some new peeps. It was a little slow in the early goings but it picked up pretty nicely. Sitting at the front table for a while and the strobe turned on and I was just too lazy to turn my head away. Staring at that thing for a couple minutes almost gave me a seizure. Lots of good sets last night. I think I enjoy Vlado's the best tho.
Sean and Alje= Congrats on a pretty successful party Dan= Not a very eventful night for us eh? Peter= Next time you ask for food, don't go wandering off or I'm gonna end up eating it. Attila= You work that laser pretty damn good Ben= Thanks for the ride buddy Tina=Don't assault people with the smiley stamp or its comming right back your way. Well its 6pm and I still havn't really had any sleep so I must go relax |
