Ferry Corsten @ Richards On Richards
The venue was something I've never experienced before, for a DJ show. Richards is typically the "bling bling" top 40 locale. But it managed to squeeze in hundreds of happy dancers no problem.
Night started off a little slow with no one really knowing what they were doing. Then Danny T got a second moment on the sets and got everyone bumping to a good frenzy. I was shocked how many people had no clue about the scene. I was asked maybe four times if Danny was "the guy we came here to see?" , "well if you mean ferry corsten, then no, he's a local, but a very talented one". Then Ferry came on to a rorring crowd just dying to see him. He droped a world of amazing tracks until 2 when he was asked to shut if off. But he performed not one, but two encores, including ( what any fan could have called it ) Rock Your Body Rock and Punk. Afterwards those who were lucky enough headed down to the Fiji House for the after party where me and J-Ling dj'ed to a intimate crowd, including Ferry himself and Azim. What a night!!! Ferry was excellent last night. One of the best nights of music I have heard in a while.
Crowd was great and the man is a gentleman. Got to chill out with him before the show, got the lab coat signed and pics taken. After the Richard's event there was an afterparty at UBC where Ferry was the guest and we chatted and played foosball for a few hours. |

Wow, what a night, it was my first time seeing a DJ perform at a club, and Corsten delivered! Couldnt have been any better, just wish i had hit up the afterparty. Richards is a tight venue for this sort of thing, the dancefloor was crowded but thats because the place was insanely packed with fans! When he dropped "automanual" I believe everyone went nuts...
Ferry..ferry..ferry .. oh hell yes .. cant wait till Doom's Night. Peace. |

Okay, one complaint.
The atmosphere seemed a bit... plain. I dunno. Maybe I've just been spoiled by Sonar. Beyond that, things were good. Enjoyed the tunes quite a bit. I haven't listened to trance played out in quite a while, just because I had to get a bitter taste of overplayed anthem trance out of my system so I was a bit fearful it would still be lingering; nice to have that old vice no longer about. Dancefloor was too packed for my liking but, hey, the ailes were nice and clear while Ferry was playing; plenty of dancing room there. ;) Everyone sure was having a good time. Must have been that full moon. |

Hey! Don't diss the girls! You could see cooch (even from up on the balcony ). Yeah, the price of RBV's was stupid brutal. First time in a llooooonnnggg time I've gone to a clubnight without one. Last edited by Sykonee; Oct 28, 04 at 11:07 PM. |
