Buckfunk 3000 - High Volume.... it's the first nu skool breaks record I ever heard and bought! What events have you played at? Brat Baby! NYE (Kamloops), Utopia (Kamloops), Apex Project, Emerald Shard (Kelowna), Bushfunk (Somewhere in the Woods), Downpour, more parties that I can't remember (including one at the Croation Cultural Center), Believe @ The Red Room, Overproof @ The Lotus, The Midweek Hump @ Tribeca What National / International clubnights have you played at? Club UFO (Juarez, Mexico) Have you got any DJing horror stories? Coming back from Juarez, Mexico, into El Paso, Texas, I almost didn't make it through the border because I didn't have a Passport... After a few tense minutes of shocked silence, the guard decided to have pity on my poor soul and let me go home! Are you a resident DJ, if so where? dumb luck and enough skill to make a demo worth booking me for, hehehe
I was on Soulseek one day in the Progressive House chat channel and this Mexican girl, Barbie, started talking with me, she sent me some Jonathan Lisle, so I sent her what, at the time, was my latest demo, mixing progressive house and nu skool breaks... she decided I had better come down to Juarez and mix at Club UFO for her crew dopest gig ever :D |

ok, back from the swamp of the working man, here I come with 2 bits of exciting news (exciting for me anyways)
first bit of news is this, I am starting a residency at Lick on Thursday nights... on July 22nd there is going to be a party there featuring Lucas, Stereotype and myself all playing nothing but our own original production works... I'll be playing a set of all the breaks I've made so far, which should be really exciting for me :D the second bit of news is in relation to the first bit... I've made a deal with a digital record label called Mixturi Digital who have agreed to put my music on a variety of websites for sale in high quality mp3 and FLAC formats! you can find my breaks and my house tunes on www.edmdigital.com and on www.workingbeats.com (so far) to find the house tunes, look under the House/Tech House section on EDMDigital.com and there will be 6 tracks by 'Van Tek' that's me... but shh... don't tell nobody ;) finding the breaks is as easy as using the search bar and typing 'Thanatos' then hitting enter! |

Wow... been a while since I updated this bad boy...
New happenings... Every Wednesday night at Tribeca, my roomie and I do a night called The Midweek Hump... Come join us for some excellent house music and cheap martinis! I've also become a monthly resident at Believe (The Red Room) My next gig is May 20th, I'll be opening up in the back room for a tag team set by DJ Ali and Sage! Gonna be good times! Come out and hear me play some crazy tech house steez :D Also, extremely exciting news.. I'll be playing under my Thanatos alias again at Apex Project! Get ready for some intensely hardcore breaks ;) |
