Emmanuel Ferreira
DJ Name - Emmanuel Ferreira
Email: [email protected] Contact # (refer to email) Genre Of Music: BREAKS Affiliations:POUND Recordings, Ground Level (Victoria), Mother's Cupboard (Vic), Fahrenheit, Nubreaks.com. Website: www.poundrecordings.com How long have you spinning the decks for? 6 years What originally hooked you into the DJing scene? DJ Slim (now known as SPENCE). Single handedly responsible for my crossing the line between casual partier and DJ. Also Uberzone;] What type of music do you specialise in? Breaks, in all its glorious forms Most expensive vinyl that you have paid for? - how much was it? I once bought a 3 disc LP for just a single track...can't remember which one and am too lazy to look for it... What is your most treasured record and why? Probably "Uber Zone-The Freaks"...that's what started it all for me What events have you played at? Everything from clubs to raves to small house parties and even a youth festival where I got to open for David Suzuki;] What National / International clubnights have you played at? 2F in Taipei, Taiwan...currently working on tentative nights in the UK and possibly Japan which have yet TBC...stay tuned to our site Have you got any DJing horror stories? The first time I played Vancouver Island I got royally screwed over...I played a half hour to help with sound check and then they kicked me off for a trance DJ who couldn't mix worth sh*t...then it was nothing but epic trance for the rest of the night. I had no wheels or a hotel, so I was stuck there the whole night. To add insult to injury, one of the promoters let his wannabe DJ friend jump on in the morning instead of making it up to me by letting me play, saying "oh well, we might have a spot for you at the afterparty". Be careful who you play for... Are you a resident DJ, if so where? Past: resident at POUND Wednesdays, 20 Hz Present: resident DJ with GLP in Victoria for the odd night @ HUSH...other than that, just bunkering down working on producing for the mostpart Any other information? -Originally from Montreal, Que (though my French is sh*t) -Released debut mix CD "Homewrecka" in 2001, a heads down techy acid funk breaks mix featuring tracks from a lot of my influences including Bushwacka, Elite Force and Danny McMillan -Won the Searching by Sonar competition on Nubreaks.com in 2003 for my mix, "Invisible Airline" (d/l from POUND site) which earned myself lots of credibility as a DJ and carved me a modest niche in the international breaks scene. -Major shouts and thanks to everyone who has supported me over the years...you know who you are! It really really means a lot:] -Support your scene and its artists! Don't just download their stuff off Soulseek...that's just not cool. -I don't take requests! :071: Last edited by E_Ferreira; Nov 04, 04 at 04:15 PM. |

Nah...we never got around to doing that! That's a name I haven't heard in a long time by the way. I remember those Trickler parties! They had a hand in bringing TIPPER to Vancouver for the first time...an event which changed my life forever...lol

LMAO Dennis...the party was going fine until you showed up;) Set was pretty good...was SUPER tired by the time 6AM rolled around, but people still wanted to have at it, so who am I to say no? Managed to dig a bit deeper into the crates and unleash some oldschool electro and acid gems...always fun to have an excuse to play the classics!! |

"EMF is a British rock and pop (dance-rock) band which came to prominence at the end of the 1980s and the early 1990s. The band came from the Forest of Dean area of Gloucestershire. Their first single, Unbelievable was a number 1 hit, and their debut album, Schubert Dip went to number 1 in the UK album charts." http://pedia.newsfilter.co.uk/wikipe...mf__band_.html Shows what you know... |
