Silverwaters Presents Rise of the Drums Nov 20th!!!!
Andrew Spence - Breaks n Sax Pure Phunk Recordings, TCR One of Canada's most respected breaks spinners. Through the 90's, Andrew Spence ripped up the Canadian and western U.S. underground electronic music circuit as dj Slim, a name which suited his slender physique and freestyle mixing style. Now billing as SPENCE, Drew is still carving up wicked mixes and scratch attacks, but is now also laying down modern harmonic flavors with the aid of his tenor saxohone. With recording credits on Canadian house labels such as Village and Leaf Recordings, his star as a horn player is on the rise. His most recent Sax work is featured on breakbeat superstar Rennie Pilgrem's new album Pilgremage on TCR Recordings. Spence's ability to integrate improvised sax with effects into his own dj sets makes him a bit of a freak in the dj world. He recently played at HUM in London and Supercharged in Brighton, two of the UKs top breaks nights. His production career is about to take off this fall with releases scheduled on Toronto's Purephunk Recordings. Spence is a veteran Techsmith and gifted instrumentalist whose dynamic performances illustrate a fresh conception of freestyle. One of Canada's most respected breaks spinners.
