Since 1995. What originally hooked you into the DJing scene? DIY behavior. If you can't get it, make it happen. I was living in a small town and wanting to expose others to the music that was making the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Simple as that. What type of music do you specialise in? Panambient and drum and bass? Panambient as in, anything goes. This sort of music gets brushed by the wayside but it's really an art in itself. Fuck the chill out compilation, respect the art form and know that you can cross genre and boundary to make somethign special when mixing records that either don't have beats or have beats slower than 75 bpm. As for drum and bass, well, anything that's doesn't sound like an armpit fart being used as a bassline. I prefer to occasionally challenge as well as entertain, that's why you may hear me drop a breakcore tune or a Cure record in the middle of a drum and bass set. Why? Why the fuck not? Most expensive vinyl that you have paid for? - how much was it? $50 USD for an original, sealed copy of the DJ Die and Peshay mixes of DJ Shadow's "What Does Your Soul Look Like?" What is your most treasured record and why? Any of my Coil records. What events have you played at? Pretty much every club in town. Warehouse parties, Lounge X raves, alot of the Team Lounge events. Things at Blim, things at the Underwear farm, lots of radio. I've been lucky enoungh to play with everyone from Sutekh and Safety Scissors to Richards Devine to Pete Lawrence to Klute and UFO! What National / International clubnights have you played at? Gosh, lots of drum and bass nights and ambient parties in Seattle. Raves in Oregon. The late, lamented Eklektic in San Francisco, Clandestine in San Jose. Toronto, L.A..jeez.. Have you got any DJing horror stories? Stupid requests and shitty sound systems, the usual. Are you a resident DJ, if so where? Art of Beatz Radio, every thursday night at midnight, CFRO, 102.7 FM. Vancouver's most forward thinking, electronic music focused radio show.
