Tiesto !!!!!

I cant believe what happened last night. For the last year I thought Armin was a better DJ but seeing Tiesto last night ,changed my mind completley, everything he did as a dj was unreal, he is so far a ahead of any dj its crazy!! The guy is unbielevable, he played some new tracks that are going to tear the roof of Vancity soon !!! Tiesto is # 1

He was pretty good last night but I liked him better at the commodore...The party was a little cramped and I was having problems breathing (too much smoke) But other than that I had a great time!!!

P.S: Nice to meet you ASH! :)

last year when i seen tiesto in vancouver i was very unimpressed. his was too tecky for my liking, and i did not like the fact that he was playing more of his crappy newer tracks. i hated his newest artist release album "just be" and i thought he would have put on a better performance, much like the stellar appearance he put on the year before. IMO the only good track on that piece of crap album was love comes again, even though the song is sooooo cheesy. i seriously think tiesto should look up to AVB because his "76" was an awesome artist release album. it was also funny to watch him spin adaigo for strings (which i call asaigo for cheese), and seeing everybody go off! the song is a total joke! it is a complete rip off from the 1950's classic movie "the elephant man," witch tiesto added a bunch of pre fabricated beat matching sounds, all for a terribly laughable effect. sorry to offend die hard tiesto fans, but the man let me down last year, and i will never forgive him. he has gone form my number one fav dj to my number one hundred thousanth all because of a crap performance and a crap cd release. sorry tiesto but you are way too top 40 now, and you will soon join paul joakenfold is the washed up dj pile.

The Tiesto show was a crazy experience. Saturday night was my first USC event, and I heard about it through a friend by chance and I was determined to go. The club confused me a little at first. I thought the VIP section, 18+ section and main section was out of the ordinary.

The venue (Premiere or something?) is like a warehouse with a small lounge area off to the side that you can walk into for drinks or a different atmosphere. The lights and lasers were cool. Sound quality was great, but i really feel that they could have turned it up a little.

Tiesto is a great performer, imo. He knows to identify the crowd, really get involved and just straight up perform. Much like Armin, he smiles when he doesn't don't have to. I saw Sakin a few years back and he was playing a rocking set. But the crowd didn't REALLY respond to his music until an hour into his set when he cracked his first smile. He really connected with the audience, and that is what made Tiesto so great. He had such a strong stage presence, he was always in view, stood straight, he even posed during breakdowns (which totally drove the tiesto hardcore's nuts)

I think tiesto's excellence is based around how he markets himself. His name is easy. His photography in his marketing is always complimenting. He only gets promoted by the companies that will uphold his standard in spokesmanship. I dunno. He's an industry professional and I think that if his fame dies down, it'll be because of the off-hand shit-talkers and not because of his music.

I dunno guys, i'm going to have to say that the Seattle scene is a little better than the vancouver scene. People were dancing, jiving with one another, just being happy. Thanks God for USC. Or, that all could have just been the drugs.

It was nice to meet you too man~!^^^

I thought tiesto was pretty sick, and did put on quite a good show.

however, it WAS hella packed in there, def a bit hard to breathe... right when tiesto came on, and crept my way up to the front, and got within a person of the stage... it was so crazy people were freakin out, and like going all crazy up there... couldn't quite hack it with the obssesed nutballs, i just wanted a look, and so i hightailed it outta there within about 5 minutes.

One great thing about tiesto, is that he can play whatever he wants, and people are still into it. at alotta other partys people are turned off by the long synth lines and breakdowns in trance, but not at this show... people were still into it.

Did n e one get picks of him? cuz man, i accidentally left my brand new camera in the car when we went inside the premier. it was mad shitty buzz.

had a great time tho, lotsa people watchin, and got to say whats up to some homes from van... hope u all had fun in sea-town. holla. peace.

Yeah, we've got a shitload of pictures from the whole road trip... should be some great ones of tiesto, i'll u/l them when we finally get them downloaded.

As far as the show goes, i was really dissapointed. The venue leaves much to be desired. The sound is terrible... they really need some sound-absorbing material or somthing at the back, because it bounces right off the giant brick walls and makes for an awefully distorted sound throughout the whole "club". (and i use the term "club" loosley) Lighting was also lacklustre, but the lazer helped. Nice effect with that translucent material they had hung up... good idea. Not sure why he quit spinning so early either, i mean for every vancouver show, even if the club is supposed to close at two, he has always spun 'till two thirty.

Not much of what he spun even inspired me to dance, and i'm usually one of the first ones moving... the place was just PACKED, and people in seattle apparantly don't like dancing at trance shows as much as they like moshing. I was waiting for the first crowd surfer to get passed up on stage... SPREAD THE FUCK OUT!

The smoke was terrible, the air conditioning was dripping everywhere, i knew it rained a lot in seattle, i never thought it would be raining inside the club.

All gripes aside, its always a blast to come down to seattle for a show.. gotta love the 1 night road trips, the $7 cases of beer, and people with handguns in their houses. (No joke... went over to some dude's place to continue getting loaded & he had a 9mm on his kitchen table... needless to say we unarmed canadians left shortly thereafter, wild) Crazy americans.

Anywho as much as i bitched about this show, i'm sure it won't be long before we pack up for another bender south of the 49th. Thanks USC.
