Whoah, that was such a tight party. If more parties were like that the scene would be so much better...
To emphasize how much I liked that party, I just have to say that the travelling from Surrey to Nanaimo and back was a grueling, freezing, horrific experience that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Enduring almost as many hours of transportation as partying would make most parties not worth it... but this one WAS WORTH IT. I didn't hear any trance the whole night.... that is *soooooo awesome*... I can't express how awesome that is over a textual medium without insulting the formatting nazis. Dabber's set was the peak of the night for me, I just CAN'T GET ENOUGH of live jungle... Speeeeeeed Garage!!! Now that we've seen that many people loving every minute of multiple speed garage sets, maybe we'll see more of it! For the obligatory down points: 1) Overcrowding on the dance floors was pretty bad. I think that pretty much speaks for itself... you can't dance properly (especially with any interesting styles... popping, tuts, liquid, kickstep, etc) when you are crowded in from all sides, everywhere in every room. Oh well, you can't have your cake and eat it too, right? 2) The shuttle. Clearly the promoters underestimated how many lower-mainlanders were coming to that party. About 1\5 of the ravers on my ferry got the shuttle, every one else had to pay for cabs (10 bucks, no biggie sure... but we were promised free shuttle service). A full bus was required for that trip. Meh, no biggie. PS: Throwing BC Ferries buckets and ash tray stands overboard is absurdly immature... especially since it's a crown corporation, and you pay for it in your taxes. Correction: we ALL pay for it. Real funny, assholes. Happy new year to everyone who came out! PPS: Yes, this was the best party I have ever been to, in just over 2 years in the scene. I've had a couple days to settle down and I still hold that opinion... Last edited by FlorpIncarnate; Jan 03, 05 at 01:20 AM. |

-4 brooms, 3 buckets, $25
-5 large size garbage bins, and 4 ashtray stands, $35 -Making A BC Ferry make a U turn in the middle of Georgia Strait $3000(est) -Seeing the look on the faces of the old people, who thought someone fell overboard, Priceless The bus ride from downtown to Horseshoe Bay was packed with ravers, practically a "raver bus"! The ferry well, I don't think the ferry workers had a clue! >=] I never found the Lazer Tag either, but I wasn't there for that. Go Carts, well I watched as some security dude walked out on the track, and almost got run down...lol stupid! I did meet a lot of new people and here's a shout out to all of you! All the best to you in the New Year, and looking forward to the next event! |

Well I tried to figure it out, the fuel, and extra time it took, which means overtime for the workers. The workers get high wages and overtime is at least doube time for two hours. So I came up with $3000. No it ain't cool, it's just down right stupid! It just goes to show what some goofing around can cost.

Someone posted what went overboard, I was playing poker when it happened...the ferry did this real tight 180 and the captain announced what was going on. I went on the deck(COLD) and talked to this old couple who thought someone fell over. The captain said it was something rubber in the water, I'm guessing the garbage can. |

However the people who had it worse, were the ones trying to dance in the breaks room....three rows of traffic cutting threw at any given moment...dancing was a little difficult, however not impossible. =] |
