Solid's NYE Massive Ravey Thing
i can't believe i'm going to be the one to make the review for this party, but whatever, someone has got to do it.
i had a lot of fun. i haven't been to a party in quite a while, so it was nice to get back into it. whoever said it was sold out...riiiiiiight. lots of empty space. Z-Trip was the highlight of the night. he was fucking amazing; i've never seen anyone with that kind of skill before. i didn't even dance really, i just sat there in awe and took pictures. i felt like paparazzi. Ryan Ross finally busted out the trumpet, which he hasn't done in awhile and should do more often :p Great tag-set with Adam or Omega Image or whatever you prefer. thanks to all my friends for making this new years a really unbelievable one. we really do have the raddest group of friends ever, and i appreciate everyone of you guys! ummmm...i think that's it. oh yeah. and to the girl that was dancing in the main room after the music was turned off...everyone was laughing at you. happy new year. |

I had a blast at Solid, however they fucked myself and Raver_OG over for the VIP tickets. The music was great. I spent most of my time in the break-beat area, where Ryan Ross was ripping it up. That guy is nuts, was sooo pumped on his shit all night.
Overall though the music was great, one thing they could improve on was the VIP thing, buying the VIP ticket was BS regardless. One thing that was f'in random was all those people just chilling.. in the middle of the dance floor.. on the ground. And stepping on those bottles got a little dangerous towards the end of the night. Anyways, other than that, It was a great party, my first massive (second rave, first one would be the one my buddy Raver_OG organized, and i helped dismantle). I would definitely go to one of these again, if they gave us a better VIP. In peace, Happy New Years -Preet |

man was it just me or was the vibe....dead most of the night? The only time i was feeling the party was of course at midnight in the main room, and if in the breaks room right at the front...lots of people having a good time right at the front of the stage, but if you turned around, it was only like 5 people deep. So johnny ill made me dance drunkenly all through his set, followed by k-pryde causing my leg to cramp up and making me unable to dance for the rest of the night...but it was worth it. Soma and the guitar guy was definately something fresh at a party and I really got into it! Caught some of kai tracid...k i'll admit, when he dropped "the second trip" i almost lost it lol, brought back memories. Ztrip definately highlight of the night....he had EVERYTHING IN HIS FUCKING BAG. I think that's the most headbobbin/bangin i've done to music. Going from breaks, to hip hop, to sweet home alabama all while cutting and scratching i mean come on, the man was amazing. Just looking through this thread, i'll give a shoutout to ryantron and liqwid as I met you guys last night for a brief moment. yeah, i was at the front of the breaks stage pretty much all night, but you're right, if you turned around it was just sorta like a bunch of people standing around and looking kinda bored. z-trip deserved better, i'd say. |

ztrip was pretty insane! not the biggest rave dj but he rocked it i definetly enjoyed his set. adam and ryan totally ripped that place up. wicked tracks and titeass trumpet skillz! but yeah thanks to the peeps who showed up early for my set n all the nice comments (and bad. hahaha sorry no breaks la). soma and the guitarist layed down some tripped out stuff pretty damn sick. wood layed it down as well.
the mainroom was pretty insane as well.. completely different vibe from the breaks room but i spent a good portion in there. checked out the shy bros set it was actually pretty tite! missed bt n was a lil too mangled to check out kai tracid but it seemed like people were totally diggin it. good seeing people i totally didnt expect seeing. myra, akeel, bev..... good chillin with the coq peeps. that was a wicked night definetly got what i wanted outta it! thanks hirsh for helping me out last minute n charlie n ben for the ride. good times! happy new year everybody!! wizzfish haha sorry i got you going a lil too hard i know i started that set off pretty fast. didn't really have time to warm up with the vibe fuckin security retard in the back wouldn't let us in for some reason even though we had passes. so he makes us go to the booth to talk to mike and mikes just like uhh just walk in dude. so we go back to the back door since the vip line was pretty long and i needed to be on 10 minutes before that. and still he wouldnt let us the fuck in. i have no idea what his fuckin deal was but he made us wait outside for another 5 minutes while he talked on the phone. then the other security dude sees our passes and lets us in. i enjoyed it...cept the mutha fuckin doors didnt open till 20-25 minutes after 8...and i had a t-shirt on. spent most of my time in tha main room..couldnt get away from it...i was addicted. very good party overall solid.:)

Wow.
Good night. I danced until the music was turned off at the house stage. BT was a bit of a dissapointment, but Kai rocked the fucking main room with Dj Assult "Yo Relatives" and "Outter Space" one right after the other. I was so tired but I danced my ass off anyways. I loved it when people swore they new me from other parties I didn't even go to. Best feeling EVAR. So many people asked me why I was wearing a coat my response "I'm sober, its cold" them "THATS NO FUN FOR THE NEW YEAR!" To all the high girls who said I was a good dancer, you have rocks for brains.
