Absolutely Hardcore... Thats all I have to say.
Firewires set was awesome (although there was some mis communication somewhere when his set was supposed to start considering everything was way off schedule. Big Orange Dan's set was ok I guess... ppcock's set was good although at the end he looked like he was going to throw up. Ninjaboys set.... well all I can say is Billy Jean? Tamerax's set was just absolutely amazing considering he was tanked. He actually fell right over while on his set but got up and Phosphor's set was another amazing freeform set. Firewire nearly had a heartattack as a result.... j/k Robb's Set was also as energetic, and went from happy to kinda freeform to gabber. Dooms Set, Well what can we say about doom.... Did doom make a political statement or what was the true motive behind the projector images :P. As per the rest of the set... just stunning. Phosphor was totally freaking out cause he loved it so much. Crazy Dan's Set, well unfortunantly I just heard the first track but the video that was on the projector was well... rather satisfying. Overall I had a good time. Kinda hate hardwood floors. Sprained my ankles to many times when I was a kid so after standing on hard floors for a while they sometimes swell up. I think the funniest moment of it all was after robb's set was done which ended with gabber and dooms set was about to begin, you had these trance kid's that were like "uhhh can you guys play anything softer like the stuff you were playing before" then they thought they were about to listen to drum and bass and then once when that projector started holy shit did those fuckers run away. Funny when you have these kids that think freeform is trance.... Anyways will probably post up more comments later, oh and also will upload the images I took in approx 24hr's.. hopfully they came out fine considering I was having issues with the digicam. |

thanks bold, i was bobbing my head to access and i almost fell over twice, but when you have everyone on the dance floor. You cant not just stand there. Dancing like a monkey gets people on the dance floor for some reason (or maybe it was the non-stop 303 maddness)
Apologies for leaving early.. Met some nice ottawa folk, I saw mithridate at the smoking area and that's pretty much all the fnk'ers i saw. Last edited by ppcock; Feb 27, 05 at 10:47 AM. |

Ok, I've got lots to say.
First off... I'd like to thank the promoter/flyer kid who but a Godspeed for flyering my U-Haul... I'll really be sure to miss it now. Set reviews: FireWire: Not bad for a first time out. Congtats :D Big Orange Dan: FUCK! I missed it. Oh well, next time. PPCock: SOLID set Marty, classic closer too. Ninjaboy: ... that was scary... very scary. Yankie McJew French (AKA Tamerax): Another classic Tamerax show. Too bad I missed you falling on your ass. Phosphor: God damn... that was the best hour a Vancouver rave has ever seen. Reviews on my set: Apperently I played the best Trance some people have ever heard.... IT WAS HAPPY HARDCORE! Dr. Doom: My neck it going to HURT when I wake up... alot! Great tracks! Crazy Dave: It's been a while since I've heard Booty... thanks :) Me Vs Tamerax: it was short... but I did close with a track titles "Hypnotica". Big ups to the Ottawa crew. I really didn't expect to see that many 613 ppl. Thanks to EVERYONE who came out. it was a night to remember. Especialy since I got pantsed by the headliners durring my set. |

Here's what I thought about this wicked party:
- Finally a hardcore party in Vancouver! - Wicked lineup, wicked tunes. - Had some crowd, not too much, but still... random people came and actually enjoyed the sounds of freeform and happy hardcore. I was glad to see that. - Had two amazing headliners show up and rip it up with some phat tunes. Now for sets: Big Orange Dan: I really liked the trance which I haven't heard in a long while and you really got me movin' with a lot of the tracks - nice work man! PPCock: Awesome acid techno selection man, I was really diggin' the sick basslines that your music had. Ninjaboy: Nice selection of old skool freeform in the beginning... I was really digging the Tilzs & PlasticPortal style tracks. Then your set went all weird and I didn't really get what was going on with the slow tracks. But nevertheless, that was fun too. :P Tamerax (aka. Tampax): Now that was a REALLY wicked set. Most of the NuEnergy tunes were played and I couldn't stop rocking my head back and forth. Now my neck hurts. Phosphor: Blew me away totally... I was raving out to every single track that was played, and since each track was my style of hardcore as well, I was raving out twice as hard. Big up Dan! Thanks for playing AC Slater for me, I was really excited hearing "Overdose Music" - as it feels like I have had an overdose of music after listening to that track. Robb Peppertree: Man, you are fucking amazing! Your beatmatching and mixing was dead on, I couldn't stop enjoying that part of your set - and then, your set alone. Nice selection of happy hardcore, then a bit of freeform, and then the dynamic gabber which I was really waiting for. Gosh I love gabber - it gives me a hard one. Dr. Doom: Now I know why they call you Doom, and yet alone... a doctor. You work the decks like surgeon with non-stop mixer tweakage and fader abuse. Wicked acidcore tunes though - they were actually better than I expected. Crazy Dave: Love the energy in your set... you spin FAST. Holy hell, I had to catch some breath after trying to dance to every single beat of your tracks, lol. Then I had to leave and didn't get to hear Robb vs. Tamerax. But I am sure it was wicked as hell, cause that's what happens when two really damn good DJs go head to head to rip up some wax. :P |

PPCock was the third guy on... he's tall and was wearing a dark blue hoodie, I think. He was spinning acid techno.
Hey mithridate, were you the one with the little devil horns on your head? Last edited by FireWire; Feb 27, 05 at 02:26 PM. |

Yea the dude with the rat got really high later that nite and seemingly forgot the rat was in his pocket while busting to the 180bpm hardcore... the motionless rat just kinda had its head dangling out of his pocket.. it looked dead.
"Starwars Kid" was pretty funny. haha quite good with the bowstaff I must say!: if dont know what im talkin about, download starwars kid videos here did anyone else see that Mythbuster lookalike? He was totally myth-bustin it out to the hardcore Last edited by Junglist; Feb 27, 05 at 02:50 PM. |

Good stuff Great people
I'v been to a number of raves, but this would have to be my first Happy Hardcore. Thought I'd check it out and it was interesting to say the least.
Party didn't have huge numbers of people but the Vibe was as good as it gets. Whoever's idea it was to set up the fans-- you deserve a gold star. those fans were a lifesaver :) And hey, I loved the Venue, it was like hiding out in plain site . |
