He is clueless... Even if it was possible to split the show I don't see how it would change much. You pay the same prices in Ibiza, if not more to see him with 5000 other people and the alcohol is twice as expensive.
I'd say that if your interested in seeing someone like this 50 dollars isn't bad, its on par with other places. Quote:

Let me begin by stating I'm not a "Trancehead" , I enjoy the odd Trance song, but it's not my genre of choice. I'm defending this argument because I'm not sure you understand what goes into promoting a show. In this case Armin Van Buuren is the 3rd highest ranked DJ in the world, that being said it costs an enourmous amount of money to bring him in. If you combine it with the size of the venue ( Plush ) , the cost of security, it brings the price of the ticket up to 40$. A good example is when Union brought out Phynn to the same venue who's an amazing trance DJ but it only cost 18$ because he doesn't have the worldwide reputation to pay for. It's the same concept as bringing any big name to vancouver, wether it be trance, jungle, dnb, or a rock show. And as far as calling Dutch and Germans "same shit, different language" , I'm personally neither but I'm sure you can lay off the racism in a public forum. |

"The List" you speak of Alla is in fact the published "list" that everyone always talks about when they are bringing the #3 or the #12 DJ or whatever. It's based off of this DJ Mag list not any other taken from the net. Hence why Armin is #3. |

eboy... We started tickets at $40... Armin plays for 4 hours so it's full value especially with the extra sound, lighting and visuals we are bringing in. Oh and Armin is top notch, he conistently pulls world wide and has definitely stepped up his game around the world hence why he is #3 and climbing. ArgumentIfacT - we have been in the business a LONG time and know how to negotiate... trust me on that. Oh any by the way, our parties would be SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper if we had a venue and a city that would support 15,000 people. It's funny how many of you keep comparing us too other cities around the world yet are totally un-aware of the cost of throwing a show HERE... permits, DJ's fees, etc. are all more. |

franklin didn't even post in this thread: lame excuse. and also don't try to say that trance people are just in it for the money and DnB people aren't. armin could fill a bigger arena than zinc could so they charge more money. that's just business. it happens in every industry...the more popular something is the more pricey it is. this happens with everything from rock bands to fashion, so just zip your lip and stop trying to make it look like people who listen to DnB are more morally sound that people who listen to trance. you just sound like you're an idiot. it's a style of music that people listen too. i'm sure there are jerks that listen to DnB and there are jerks that listen to trance...listening to a style of music doesn't mean you're going to have a certain personality trait. if you think the price is too high, then don't fucking go. i would never pay a hundred dollars a ticket to go see Sting in concert, but that doesn't mean he's a more greedy artist than another one who is only charging 20 bucks a ticket. larger audience, larger arena, bigger pricetag. |

here's an example for ya, to go to a club in amsterdam, you have to expect to pay a cover of at least 10-15 euro, for just a regular club night. if you're going to a 'rave' in europe you'll be paying at least 50-60 euro.
to book armin, pvd or tiesto, you have to be ready to spend roughly $20000 just on booking fees, airfare and hotel and whatnot. and they dont fly economy class either. plus you gotta pay the club, however much that may be, security, lighting, stage set up, props, whatever. the costs of just throwing a party can run up quite high. consider that the biggest club venue in the city holds 1000 people only, tickets cant be expected to be too cheap |
