where... do I start...
4x4ing in the grass with my vw golf was rather interesting.... god damn ruts... thought I was going to blow the suspension right out.... Awesome moment was those guys in the ford explorer doing donuts in the grass... I seriously thought that thing was going to flip over.... Met some interesting people while setting up camp.... Met 2 girls who came down from kelowna and this was there first event that they ever been to. They were nice. Then I dunno if anyone noticed the taxi cab..... lol that guy is from calgary and heard about summer break when he went to shambala. That guy is a riot.... He drank way to much. Then there was this south african guy who we all met up with and stuff. Had a good conversation about various subjects. Was at the stage when Kraig was spinning and then all of a sudden the power go's off to all 3 stages..... Eventually power was restored walked around and still noticed that dj soo and that other dj was still playing non stop.... seemed like manos one was a little late or there was a change in the schedule. Went back to the stage where kraig and precise was ripping shit up. Huge credit to kraig for working that little drum machine.... very original... I enjoyed that set... unfortunantly they ended up running into more technical difficulties with the sub.... Was interesting watching the light surge on every beat as well.... Which probably explains why the sub went.... anyhow almost went deaf with just those speakers blasting... The stage with the 2 large projector screens in the tent was also good. Awesome visuals that blended well with the music.... Finally manos one hit the decks just ripping it up with his unique scratching technique's.... that guy is just amazingly talented. Was expecting a little bit more out of matt the alien... but oh well.... I enjoyed stimulant j's set based on a number of reasons....he kept purely original... when he played "Poison" by bel biv devoe that brought back so many memories... And with the chicks that were dancing on the stage..... wow.... gives a whole new meaning of "stimulant". Wasn't a big fan of sweatshop union, I still don't understand why people began to mosh to hip hop..... or glow sticking in that matter... Then Coolio came up..... I thought that sob would of been more calmed down and what not.... christ I think he terrified a whole shit load of people... There was this one chick that was on stage and when she got off the stage she was pissed because he grabbed her ass....... well what the fuck do you expect a god damn handshake and a bow???. Amazing that he is 42 and is still going at it though. Then there was Vinyl Richie and czech...... lol was richie ripped??? he played some slayer... metallica.... lol what else???. Bad Company was just absolutely off the wall, they totally tore shit up... Anyhow to conclude this all.... Would of been nice just to see a little bit more people there.... I don't understand why someone brought there kids that are under 10 years old to an event like this....if you glowstick or give "light shows" to hip hop then your absolutely stupid.... Warm bottled water sucks... And what the fuck was with that native kid going absolutely apeshit during coolio's set.... that guy fuckin lost it..... |

This really had the feel of an exert party.. Always someone worth seeing at one of the many stages, professionally run, TONS of power in the sound systems (not just the main stage... Things that made my night, besides Coolio riding Avana like a horse: - Coolio's hair - 42 year old Coolio gettin all up close and personal with 17 year old raver booty - Coolio repeatedly singing "Oh Canada" to the tune of "Oh christmas tree" ("Sorry.. I don't know the rest...") - Coolio's sage advice on life - Bad Company, DJ Abasi, Colin Cox & Mr. Markus (DIRTY, DIRTY HOUSE/BREAKS) - Meeting Ashes and finding out she talks like she types, with a vaguely New York accent - Drunk friends, who made up for my sobriety I guess the biggest disappointment was not being able to get the fuck out of there before the sun came up and I could see all the Chilliwack ravers. *shudder* I'm out. |

Dave you were sober you poor unfortunate soul, I feel even worse for ya that you were'nt able to leave before the sun. Last thing I remember is kicking bottles of water at ravers by the main stage then waking up in Langley demanding some fucking bacon and eggs oh and some Poutine but apparently they don't serve that at 6:30. |
