I def do respect the security, but there should be a line.... I really think most people would agree that digital cameras cross this line.... I cant afford to have my digi taken away. I dont mind if they take the bateries out etc, but please dont take my cam.

At trancemission I was lucky and had a really nice security guard, he like searched everything throughly but was totally reasonable. I just heard about them giving others a hard time with taking in their cameras and I thought it was really rediculous.

That has nothing to do with respect, if some security ass took my 200 or 300 dollar camera I would be making one hell of a scene on the spot that is bullshit what kinda threat does a 300 dollar camera pose??

as far as i know, its a city by-law that prohibits cameras unless they are strictly for promotional use at these events.

plus, its not the security being assholes. they are doing what they have been told to do, which is prohibit a number of items from coming into the party.
IF this is not avertised properly by the event promoters, then there should be a need for out rage. Things getting confiscated are directly a result of law and of basically what the promoter has dictated to the company being used.

Furthermore, if anything anywhere (even day OF at the venue) says that you aren't allowed to bring in recording devices or cameras, then theres really nothing you can do about it.

I sure do hope they let in cameras......I was planning on going back to what I did at my first couple raves and take a bunch of pictures........it's a really good way of remembering the night.......but if we can't bring them it would be nice to know a day in advance about it

Ya definatly, if the promoters let us know beforehand Then its fine. It woujldent make me happy, but at least its fair. Its really unfair if a security guard tries to confiscate something we didnt know was not allowed, especially for those of us who transit, because we dont have a car to run back to and put the digi in.
