And Akeel... as for a mixer - we will be rockin a Pioneer 600 however I want to talk to you about setup. We plan on using all four channels on the 600 this time around so let's hook up two mixers this time. -- Is there a way to do that without using a channel on the 600? -- This way, you can hook up your drum machine to the channel off the additional mixer without any worry of one of us cutting off while you're drumming to switch to a CD. (We plan on having 2 x Pioneer 1000's in use often.) baby-phat -- With it being opening night, email [email protected] to avoid paying the cover charge! NOTE: To all those on the guest list -- the guest list expires at 11PM sharp! |

not online so here are the options...i hate daisy-chaining and would rather avoid it because of audio issues....
option 1 - my fave Mic - Sax Ch1 - cdj or tech12 Ch2 - cdj or tech12 Ch3 - cdj or tech12 Ch4 - drums *two of these would have to be doubled up, you just have to watch you're toggle switches. This setup is easiest i think, it still allows for the same flexibility as having all 4 channels dedicated, since I dont think anyone is going to be playing 3 channels of records/cd's at the same time. Option 2 Mic - Sax Ch1 - CDJ1000 Ch2 - Tech12 Ch3 - Tech12 Ch4 - CDJ1000 daisy chain to another mixer Ch1 - third deck? or cdj? its there so we might as well use it! Ch2 - Drums Session - DJM600 ideally this way, the 2nd mixer should have a session input so there is no gain or eq's to adjust and we get a straight signal out of the 600. Also its better to put the CDJ's on ch1 and ch2 because then BPM data from the CDJ's can be sent directly to the 600 so you dont need to tap in the bpm yourself. (no one ever does that...but they should!) |

Hmmmm... interesting Akeel... Give me a call when you have time so we can chat. I will be calling Aqua's sound technician this week so I want to make sure everything is on point for us.
I like your first option -- it's what we've always done with the exception of moving everything over one channel. I'm down with that if you feel that's the best setup. -- Bring RCA's for your drum machine long enough in the chance your setup is a bit away from the actual booth itself. -- Winston and I have yet to check out the brand new setup. |

Ch1 - CDJ ch2 - Tech12 Ch3 - CDJ and Tech12 Ch4 - Drums reason is ch1 only has 2 line inputs - no phono inputs. |
