About 70 homes were evacuated when a Rank Four forest fire erupted near Kelowna last night, officials said.

The fire started in West Bank, about 12 kilometres west of Kelowna, at around 9 p.m.

Because of dry conditions and stiff winds, the fire doubled in size within 15 minutes.

"It's at Rank Four right now, which means trees are candling," said Capt. Ed Mitchell of the Kelowna Fire Department.

"It's up in behind the subdivision. They've started evacuating, just to be on the safe side.

"It's a sloped neighbourhood and there's lots of trees," added Mitchell.

Several fire detachments were co-ordinating their attack on their fire and officials were setting up an emergency headquarters at the West Bank

- Forest Fire 4 miles from party

- Missing 2 Live Crew close up and watching them from the patio while doing the one eye....

- Hiding from creepy 2 Live Crew guy....

- Fight that rolled down the cliff....

- Losing the ability to speak as was to inebriated....

holly crap, it was for sure one of the best nights of the summer!

2 live crew were kinda creepy though

but all our local boyz rocked it and dj kev from kelowna that is at sonar on monday.
there was a dj there, that is from surrey i think.... i think he told me his name was impulse... or something. he was sick and wearing a black beater. is his dj name impulse?
