Little Miss Fufoo's Rendezvous
Forwerd and Twisted Productions Present:
Little Miss Fufoo's Rendez.vous Sat. Feb 16th 2002. Max Hall Capacity: 280 Attendance: 290 (including Staff) Turn out: SOLD OUT. So this being our debut party, it went really well. Tickets at the door ended up being $10 because we felt that breaking even would not be a problem. Good's: Lighting and sound by Juice was great. Took a little time to get the party moving, but it was bumping by the time DJ DEMO showed up. People were leaving the party early because they were so tired. A 5 hour hip hop party is a little long, but well worth it. The vibe was great. We went through a lot of effort to make everyone's stay as enjoyable as possible. we had forwerd promoters walking around giving away candy, we had over $400 in give aways (tickets to Freedom, Kaos, etc.) Bad's: The inflatable lounge was not all that great. the couches were too big and the lounge was too small and bright. The beginning of the party was a little bumpy because of a delayed start by 10 minutes. but that was ok because the quality of the party was reflected by dancing of the crowd. The venue was a little hard to find, but when it WAS found, i'd have to say that this was my favourite hip hop party so far. Conclussion: I've been to several hip hop parties all over vancouver. People came to our party not knowing what to expect, and leaving wanting to know when our next jam was going to be. Some initially thought it was a over priced high school dance. Ironically, it is the same price as a high school dance, with better dj's, better lights, free stuff all night, and basically an education in how hip hop parties SHOULD be thrown. this was fun and interesting. i didn't know what to expect when my friend was driving... she asked soo many question and really had no idea what this dance was going to be like. she had lotsa fun and i had some fun as well.
*hides cuz i made a fool outta myself* princess- nice seeing u there! WHAO HOW DID U RECOGNIZE ME?! hahahaha! take cares! see u in....6 days! |
