Wett!! Bunk or what?

I don't know what all of you thought of the party but I thought it was.. well shite! to say the least. I expected a dope party cause all my old raving buddies were going and they were all there but the music sucked.. Jon The Dentist spun a shitty set as well as Dj Gumbee and Ingo.. that is of course in my opinion... what the hell happened to the vibe of parties that used to exist years ago, is it no longer amidst the crowd? I'm losing my interest in raving because all the thing's that attracted me to it before are gone. I used to like the fact that only older crowds went, now there's so many damn little kids. Everyone there used to be a party kid, dressed up and decked out to the max to party all night long, now half the peeps there are bar stars and kids that have picked up the raving fad that it has become. What ever happened to the day's where 5 or 6 world renown headliners would come down to Vancouver and spin there finest sets, now were lucky to get 2 or 3 headliners at a party and when they come they usually spin some shite mainstream set.. my props go out to Tony Faline for spinning a dope set at Richards On Richards when he came down here.. He's the only DJ I've heard this year that came down here to reprezent...

What did you expect?

Fred Gets Cheekier was on the same night, and not that far away from the Plaza. It fucking ruled.

You should have gone to that.

man that was my 4th time seeing Jon the Dentist spin and in my opinion that was his best set. He stayed away from the cheesey epic fluff trance and kept it classy.

Ill be at the next cheeky party i think........with a molatov cocktail and intent to KILL

no shit if u listen to like one song or 5 min of a set and if ur there for a bad song, of course u'll say it sucks.
i heard a bit over half of jon's set and yes. it did suck .... how does a guy like him trainwreck? that was bad....
i heard 3/4 of ingo and i thought it was alrite. maybe kuz i havne't heard the current hardhouse tracks but it was bouncy enough.
and wasn't there like 7 djs from out of town?

i thought this plaza party had the least kids... but what do u define as kids? i might be a kid myself to u.

Gumbee did play a bit of crap! But he was still good! He played some un-released tracks, like that VOYAGER 1.56 (break remix), I heard it once b4, @ summer love by DJ X, but thats it!

NOW there's little kids? okay.. i know i'm young and all.. but that didn't just happen like now. this whole raving fad has been around for a while, it's not a new thing, so why expect any different?

plus what's so wrong with being a barstar? sure some of them fucking suck, but meh! ppl are like that, so what if ppl wanted to dress up? as long as their having a good time and not hurting anyone else, then what's the big deal?

meh, i had a good time @ that party, sure the music wasn't the greatest but there was lots of good stuff, and it was fun..
but then again that's just my opinion..

yur losing interest cuz the longer u go the more you realize how pathetic it can be. yur first raving days will be heaven cuz all u think about is either how high you are and how yur in such a place with so many people, lighting, dancing, bigass sound system. what i felt at my first few parties was just the joy of being able to dance and act likea retard and everyone would be happy that yur having a good time. now its same old same old and that feeling is history. yur just used to going to parties bro... you just gotta look for the main reason why u should keep going to parties. i've talked to plenty of people who've been partying for ages and have just started. the people who have just started think its heaven... theyve never experinced anything like it. people who have been in the scene for ages say the same thing ur saying. the kids and the barstars have always been there. who cares. it ur there for the music or the people or whatever go for that who dont let yur pet peeves make u have a bad time.

K-Pryde, your right everything is different now cause it has changed a lot from back in the ghetto day's... I just miss all the wild kid's that used to go, it was a better feeling and E was more MDMA than it is now.. atleast the shit I used to do.. plus I stopped popping so I know that makes raving less fun for me, cause I'm not all whacked out on whatever.. and Charly there hasn't alway's been this many little kid's at parties.. when my hole group of friends started we were the little kid's at parties.. and we were the only group of little kid's at the party.. now there is so many.. you would have to go back in time to see what I'm talking about.. I think raving has changed since it's become more acceptable in the mainstream of youth to attend these events, when I went to my first party like 2 1/2 years ago, it was like you were a bad kid if you went to these thing's.. when my friends told me about 'em 8,9 years ago I didn't know wtf they were talking about.. time changes everything I guess..

Dude I totally agree
Wow that was one of my worst parties
The vibe and the atmosphere is so different now
All of my friends had a weird night and we all agree that if parties are going to continue to be so repetative and we're gonna get people that come that don't really care about the music, then I don't know how many more we're going to go to.
I also agree that all the things that used to attract me to parties are fading.
Hopefully things will change for the better.

Fingers Crossed!

someguy ~ what i meant by NOW.. it's like.. i know back then.. when you started partying, it was alot different, cause everything changes. But what i meant by saying NOW there's alot of kids? is like.. i don't know when you're last party was? but i mean, these little kids.. even if not thes ame ones but the whole thing of little kids being there has itself been around for a while! that's what i meant by NOW it's like that?

get it? sorry if i wasn't too clear...

and one more thing.. sure this wasn't the best party.. but y'know what i would take into consideration? the fact that this was the reopening of plaza.. and i know alot of ppl who went JUST BECAUSE of that.. they only went because "it's plaza!"
maybe not all.. but i'd say give it a chance y'know? first plaza party back.. meh.. it's not gonna be that great.. give a few parties and i'm sure you won't get as may ppl going because "it's plaza!" y'know what i mean? and if not.. then i dunno..

Response to SomeGuy

Hey SomeGuy...

It amazes me the amount of opinions that have popped up over the past few days about Wett... most of them have been extremely positive.

It sucks to hear that you didn't have a good time... a combination of things I am sure contributed to that. One thing you have to remember is that ANY party is what you make of it. It sucks that in your opinion, Gumbee, Ingo and Jon the Dentist didn't play to your expectations - obviously we have no control over that. On the flip side of the coin, we have had a MASS amount of feedback as to how awesome there sets were and the wicked time that other people have had.

As far as parties changing over the years - I am sorry man but I have to say pull your head outta your ass bro! The party scene has changed and will NEVER be the same... As all of us well know, Cities/Municipalities and the Police are making it increasingly difficult to throw parties... They are putting up more red tape then you even know about - this unfortunately reflects on you, the ticket buyer/promoter who is trying to throw parties as it drives the cost of the party up. To further, our economy sucks ass... not a lot of people have $35, $45, $55+ to be spending on "rave" tickets. The younger generation does seem to be making money therefore the crowd at parties will generally be younger. If you are looking for an older crowd, only attend 18+ events or club nights... that will solve your problem.

As far as more headliners go... NO PROBLEM! But, that'll cost you the buyer... Over the years, they have increased there cost and the cost has even increased to fly them here, put them up somewhere, etc... that is ALL reflected in ticket prices. If you are prepared to pay more, then sure we can bring the six headliners you speak of.

And I agree with Cinto - there have been other wicked sets here, Malicious Mike was definitely one of them, that have been played here - either at parties or club nights.

Peace.

Thanks for coming out dude and supporting us. The entire Twisted crew had an awesome time putting Wett on! A HUGE thanks to Deliverance for handling all aspects of Production... he by far is one of the, if not the best Production Manager in Vancouver.

Can't wait till Twisted 2002... just wait till ya see what we have up our sleeve!

Peace.

Kraig: I did enjoy the party because all of my friends were there, all the ones I originally started raving with, so it was a nostalgic moment to a slight degree. But I didn't enjoy the music. I didn't enjoy the amount of people just standing around and trying to look good. I see raving as a place to go and be with your friends and to dance and party hard. I had a very high expectation of that party because it was the 1st Plaza party in a long time and I heard that they re-did the carpets, plus I love Jon The Dentist and Ingo was representing Nukleuz records which is a wicked hard house giant(BK is GOD!) but when I heard both of there set's I really didn't enjoy them because they weren't playing song's that caught my ear. I don't mean to bring a negative vibe to anything and I know lot's of people may of had a wicked time at that party but I didn't have as good of a time as I expected. Plus I do go to 18+, 19+ event's most of the time now because I enjoy the environement a lot more.

I dont know why the fuck you little bitches keep complaining about the vibe. The "vibe" is what you twats make of it. Like I go to partys with a group of people so the vibe is always good.....not like i would bitch and moan if it wasnt. If you dont like Fucked 14 year olds, and messed up asians than get the fuck out of the plaza, there is only 1 thing the plaza is good for and thats the music....and even that isnt all that great.

man get some fucking friends and stop bitching about the vibe.

LIKE WHAT THE FUCK? who the hell are YOU talking to at partys that makes the vibe so bad. I still see the EXACT same people with the EXACT same attitudes just like 2 years ago, so dont say things have changed because you know just as well as i do that shit is the SAME.
