DJ JAZZY JEFF - March 31st @ Club 686
Club 686 is very excited to present...
WHEN: Friday, March 31st, 2006 WHERE: Club 686 on West Hastings Street -- 19+ event, 2 pieces of ID are required for entry -- Absolutely zero guest list will be given for this limited capacity 350-person event DJ JAZZY JEFF - www.djjazzyjeff.com Most people hear Jazzy Jeff and they think to back to the days of Fresh Prince when the duo were on top of the charts with songs of a “Nightmare on My Street”, “Summertime”, and “Parents Just Don’t Understand.” After that most people don’t know what happened. In 1990 Jeff founded his own production facility, A Touch of Jazz. ATOJ producers have been responsible for productions on projects for Dave Hollister, Jill Scott, Kenny Latimore, Lil’ Kim, Musiq Soulchild, Michael Jackson, The Simpson’s Sing The Blues, and the Love Jones soundtrack just to name a few. Jeff enlists the help of 6 other producers and has worked hard to make ATOJ one of the most respected production houses in the industry. By 1993 Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince had released 5 albums in 7 years, sold 14 million records together, won 2 Grammy and 3 American Music Awards and this success continued all through-out the late 90’s. Jumping forward to 2002, Jeff released his first solo album titled “The Magnificent” and then in 2004 Jeff released his first official mix CD, “Hip Hop Forever II” for BBE. In 2005, Jeff continued his 20-year collaboration with Will Smith working on Will’s fourth solo release “Lost & Found” and also began working on his second solo album, “The Return of the Magnificent.” Jazzy Jeff continues to represent the DJ throughout his records, mix tapes, and live shows. His love of music shines through on all projects, whether it’s with Will Smith, Jill Scott or his own solo records. When he came to Vancouver last year, he sold out a 900+ person venue and this time around you will see him for an up-close and personal 3 HOUR DJ SET at Club 686! No doubt we’ll need the extra sound on this one!
