The problem I have with scalpers is the fact that they make it unaffordable for regular joe's to go to a show. They'll hire a bunch of bloody homeless kids to wait in line for them and buy the max amount of tickets with 8 different credit cards! Suddeny 60 odd tickets are gone and the kids who are actual fans of the bands end up not being able to go to the shows. It turns shows into a treat for the more financially stable and not the kid who just wants to see his/her favourite band in action. I come at this from the side of the music fan not the lowest of entrepreneurs *shrug*

I've had plenty of chances to scalp a ticket pal and I never have. If I've ever not been able to attend a show that I paid for I've either given the ticket away or sold it for face value.
I'm gonna have to agree with you on this one. Scalpers is ruining the scene in my opinion. Last time Tiesto was here i paid 30 bucks a week after it was announced. I'm a huge Tiesto fan, hands down my favorite dj and i refuse to pay those ticket prices. Its not that I cant afford it, its that its just not worth 150, plain and simple.

the first time i saw tiesto i bought a pair of tickets and then i won a pair from xfm (this was looooooong time ago), i sold my tickets at $30 ea, what i paid for them, but they were selling at $150 at the door. i can only imagine how much they will be going for this time. i shouldve sold my tickets at $100 a pop and treated my friends to some drinks :D

getting back to the scalping issue.... what do you call it when promoters jack up prices closer to an event? sure its not scalping but i always hated that and the fact that the first 100 or whatever cheap tickets never go out to the public. that equally sucks

dude, save the bitching and whining in every tiesto ticket thread.

here's some simple facts for you. i've got 8 tickets for sunday. i'm going but have sold 2, and still have 4 for sale.

i got all my tickets through ticketmaster legit during pre-sales. no special hook ups, i just typed in 'tiesto' in the password and got my tickets.

i saw him in 03, 04 and now 06. every year i paid FACE VALUE for tickets. ya know why? because i didn't sleep on it when i knew the shit was on sale. so fuckin zip it. this happens for EVERY FUCKING SHOW. RAVE OR CONCERT. if i want good motley crue tickets i do the same shit. if i want raver tickets i do the same shit. if you sleep on it, you'll find yourself shit out of luck, or for a concert in the nosebleeds. THIS IS NOT NEW. IT'S BEEN THIS WAY FOREVER SO STOP FUCKING WHINING.

not to mention tiesto's here for 2 nights. so there's really no excuse for people who missed out.

thank you Karl. Sure i see both sides of opinion here but i agree with Karl. For the Tiesto show, any rave, concer,t hockey game, or whatever. People know very well in advance when tickets are going to be out. If you were not smart enough to buy them during that time then stfu. Its that simple.

actually the presales password wasn't really advertised, the show itself hasnt really been advertised by the promoters. all the hype came from people who heard it from people who heard it from people. the whole presales thing was a bit messed up too, i didnt see a point in it, but whatever. im not whining, complaining or bitching. im not going and i wasnt planning on it in the first place.

in defense of people who didnt get the chance to buy tickets right away and who cant afford $200, not everyone has the ability to fork out $65 for a ticket on a short notice. the event or ticket sales werent really announced ahead of time. by the time those people could put together some money, tickets were all sold out and they got screwed.

if you're going to scalp tickets, thats fine, everyone wants to make extra money, but be fair to people too and try to see the other side of the argument, just as a nice gesture

for people who cant fork out money in a so called "short notice" thats tough luck as well. What do you expect them to do? "Oh wait lets put away 200 tickets for the people who need some time to gather money first."? Umm no. Fact is people knew he was coming long ago. Sure the release date for the ticekts was pretty last minute but anyone who has ever attended a show knows that tickets usually come out about a month or so in advance. so they still had some kind of advance notice. No money? well thats just too bad then.
