the set was enough to make me say that i don't even need to check out pvd's set. throw him back as no.1 dj. wtf. i want like every track played in the second half. even teh beautiful last track that i couldn't ID but i know is an anthem. CAN ANYONE! id any tracks played in the last 45mins. there was one BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADASS track he played that had some similar sound to.... closest i can think of the zombie nation chorus... i seriously do not know what the sound is.. but it was totally NOT a trance track... . |

He played a better set than last year and from what i gathered a much better set than was played for the Sunday night show.
What I did find strange was the Commodore wasn't even close to being packed for a 'sold out' show. Last year the venue was much more crowded. Anyway it is nice to know Tiesto can still spin a softer sound and not fill it all up with banging hard trance like he did before. |

^^^ That girl is outrageously hot.
I've always felt that Tiesto's trademark was the fluffy hardbeat epic stuff - and that's what I went to see last night (monday). He dropped a few notable tracks, but on the whole, I don't think it was his best Vancouver set. It certainly didn't have the energy of 2 years ago in June. I noticed he has picked up a few new 'for dramatic effect' dj moves: constant hand flicking, picking up the decks or mixer, and of course, the strategically placed frump away from the decks at a peak as if to say "Fuck you records, you're not worth my energy". I thought one of Tiesto's endearing features was his will to say with the crowd right through those high points, but it appears now he's showing attitude. Nevertheless, I'd go again. Anyone know that track he laid at about 1:30? Big dark synth with a cool hook and a chug-a-lug beat. |

Is it just me or is anyone else still trippin' over Tiesto's sets earlier this week. I never made it out to any previous shows in Van over the years so I can't make any comparison. Both nights, one track to another, his music smoothly flowed while dropping the craziest beats over and over. Listening to his tracks a few days afterwards still gives me goosebumps. His 2nd cd on his new ISOS just gets me going, especially songs 3,7 & 12....Unreal....I wish I could hear those live again. Damn, I wish I could hear all of it again. And for those people that ask was it worth the $100 or whatever, HELL YEAH! I bought my tix off ebay and yes I paid more than I should've, but I don't regret it at all!!!!!!! TIESTO is # 1
