ANNE SAVAGE, UK - Euphoria / Most Wanted Global / www.annsavage.net

Well, with a name like that she was hardly going to join the convent now was she? Voted No. 48 of the world’s Top 100 DJs (the No. 2 female DJ on the list), Anne is well respected internationally both as a DJ and producer. Anne’s style is hard and driving, utilizing the styles of hard dance and techno, with a typical set providing uplifting and deep variations that will guide your mood throughout the night. It is her ability to watch how a crowd reacts to her sets which makes her the true Clubber’s DJ.

Anne has played in almost every corner of the globe with South Africa, Italy, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Ibiza and the rest of Europe all regularly welcoming Anne with open arms, and with large followings in the USA, Canada and Holland. Anne Savage is also one of the few DJs that is requested at ALL of the UK’s major dance festivals including Creamfields, Homelands, Gatecrasher Summer Sound System, the Tidy Weekender and Godskitchen’s Global Gathering. She has been producing for 7 years, recording under many. As a writer and commentator on the music scene, she is a common face in Mixmag, M8, BBM, Muzik and other publications throughout the world. Anne is an icon to female clubbers everywhere and can be seen outside the music press with demand from lifestyle publications such as InStyle and B.

Few in such a gleaming spotlight actually have the talent to back up the image, but this is not the case with Anne, whose determination and passion is apparent to anyone who meets her. Her popularity is down to her vivacious personality and energetic performances, which comes across to all clubbers who love and follow her music. Gorgeous, friendly and a whole lot of fun – you know she’d be on the dancefloor if she wasn’t in the DJ booth – she really is the Clubber’s DJ. Be there for her long awaited return to Vancouver as she takes us through another memorable performance.

INGO aka. Tom Ingamells, UK - Vacuum

Where do you start? Ingo's career has been a rollercoaster ride laden with reality checks. One minute he's laying accapellas over Acid House tracks composed on a Roland 303, the next he's playing in packed arenas all over the world!

Evolving from a love of Rave bands like The Prodigy & Utah Saints, Ingo's taste for electronic music was evident from the age of 13. Spurred by the explosive Hardcore scene of the mid-nineties, & the arrival of his first set of decks, Ingo was only 15 when he first began to master dance music. When the Hardcore scene fizzled out, pumping House lead the way, producers like Brainbug (an artist he later remixed for) & The Lisa-Marie Experience ensured Ingo maintained a healthy vinyl habit.

After finishing school he enrolled at Confetti Music Collage in Nottingham, & almost simultaneously discovered the world of ‘real' clubbing, & Trance music, through clubs such as Eden, Gatecrasher, Passion & Godskitchen. The two hobbies seem to go hand-in-hand, with Ingo spending his weekends larging it & his weekdays making it (music).

As 2000 drew near, a new harder sound emerged that struck a chord with Ingo. The ‘Hi-NRG' style, of clubs like Trade & DJ's like Toni De Vit, was being re-packaged forthe masses, it was here Ingo found his niche. By mid 2000 Ingo had written his first EP, which he sent straight to Judge Jules at Radio One. To his amazement Jules' played it on national radio just days later & Ingo's ‘Dial P For Phat' became an anthem throughout clubland. This was promptly followed by his ‘Making Me Dizzy EP' which caused equal chaos in clubs nationwide.

This ‘dream come true' situation was the tip of the iceberg as Ingo found himself being bombarded with offers from agencies & record labels- all this at the tender age of 18! These first well executed releases saw Ingo championed as a pioneer of the ‘Bouncy Hard House' style as well as become hot property on the DJ market. A string of releases on Hotwax Traxx, Tidy Trax & Nukleuz followed, & yet more anthems were created. Tunes such as ‘Ready 4 Dis' ‘Party Time' & his now legendary Hoover & Horns remix were some of the biggest tunes of that era. When Fergie released his first ever solo mix CD & 5 of the tracks on it were Ingo's- it seemed he'd secured his place in the history of underground music, much like the artists he'd idolised in his youth.

Ingo was quickly snapped up by Tidy Trax for his production work & Top Draw Music for his DJ-ing. His success got him international recognition as he continued to produce the music that rocked the harder generation. His name was appearing regularly in the music media & on compilation CD's all over the world. After a phenomenal amount initial glory Ingo started to redefine his music, the bouncy style began to fade-away in favour of a tougher, more Trance-orientated sound. To accompany this transition Ingo's own label ‘Vacuum Records' was set-up in June 2001 to showcase his massively in-demand talent. Ingo also played a large part in the success of Paul Glazbys Vicious Circle lable with him producing such classics as Glazby's 'Kick It', 'Rough & Tough' and 'Beautiful'.

With the foundations for Ingo's musical life well & truly laid, he decided to further invest in his studio, which he developed to an extremely high standard. This shone through in his music as it sounded sharper, crisper & more professional than ever before. Ingo's state of the art equipment & technical wizardry meant that everyone wanted studio time with him, & his schedule represented a ‘who's who' of Hard Dance. His studio experiences with DJ's such as Lisa Lashes, Anne Savage, Paul Glazby & Rob Tissera meant he soon became well connected with his fellow DJ's. The Ingo name, however, was signed exclusively to Tidy, so he was forced to produce under many different pseudonyms in order to keep up with the demand for his work. The Phat Controller, Neutron Tom, Guy Octane & Avis Van Rental were all Ingo's alter egos.

Since rising to fame Ingo has played in Japan, Canada, USA, South Africa, all over Europe, & throughout Australia as part of a Gatecrasher tour. He also held a monthly residency at Tonic in Ibiza in 2002. Back in the UK & his standout gigs include Bagleys in London, The Temple Theatre in Ireland, Nuklear Puppy in Scotland, Naughty But Nice, Insomniacz, Storm, Bionic, Progress, Godskitchen Global Gathering, Sundissential, Tidy Weekenders, Tidy Magna, Frantic and pretty much every other major Hard Dance event. In September 2002 Ingo also set up his own club night 'Digital' in his home town of Lincoln. Digital ran monthly featuring all the top hard dance and trance djs from accross the world and allowed Ingo to build up a massive following due to his explosive night ending sets.

2004 was a busy year for Ingo with a number of big releases. His collaboration with Eseni DJ 'Scare Tactics' was one of his biggest, with airplay on radio 1 and was described as 'one of the best tracks of the year' by Amo of the Tidy Boys. Rompa Stompa which he produced with Charlotte Birch was another big release on tidy as was 'Never Land' with Anne Savage. Ingo also began to produce under a new pseudoname, 'Digital Cowboy' which he used to show his hard edged style, this led to releases on Vicious Circle in the form of 'Fire In The Sky' and the Digital Cowboy remix of Andy Farley's 'Thunder'. Ingo was also brought in to produce Lisa Lashes mix albums as of 2004 and produced both 'Lashes in Australia' and Lisa's disc for 'Extreme Euphoria'. 2004 also saw Ingo get togehter with four other producers enjoying success at the time to start 'Synapse', a new lable in conjunction with tidy. Before the year was out Ingo had also done a live mix for Tidy from Magna, back 2 back with! Colin Barratt, which was released as a Magna Live CD.

2005 looks set to be one of Ingos biggest years to date with big gigs coming in from all over the world. His studio diary is bussier than ever with dates booked in with Lisa Lashes, Amber D, Andy Farley, Paul Maddox, Rob Tissera, Charlotte Birch, Guyver and pretty much anyone who is anyone within the hard dance scene. Ingo has also taken the step of setting up a new lable with friend and fellow producer Colin Barratt. 'Gravity Trapp' will showcase all the collaboration work Ingo will be doing this year and will feature releases from all the djs mentioned above. He has already had a massive release this year on Riot Recordings in the form of 'Turbulence System - Osaris' which has featured on five hard dance compilations already. He has also just produced the recent 'Lashed In The UK' album which is available to buy in the shops now.

Ingo has also been working on projects outside hard dance. Recent studio sessions with Leeds based house dj Filthy Rich have resulted in two tracks being signed to Steve Lawlers 'Harlem Records' which have been getting Radio 1 play by Fergie. Along with this he has also been trying his hand at some break beat stuff with Lisa Lashes, tracks by the duo have already been getting cained by both Krafty Kuts and Plump Djs.

The end result is an extremely talented, experienced yet modest, well travelled, world-class DJ & producer, a calibre of which you would not expect from someone so young (23). Speaking to Ingo you can't help but think that this is all just the tip of an even bigger iceberg.

SECOND ROOM:

Voted "Best Breakthrough Producer" at Breakspoll 2006!

THE ROGUE ELEMENT, UK - Exceptional Records / www.therogueelement.net

The Rogue Element is 26-year old London producer and DJ Ben Medcalf. After spending most of his life as a drummer and budding producer of breakbeat and house music, in April 2004 he signed an album deal with the reputable and eclectic Exceptional Records label.

If you haven't heard of the Rogue Element then you've probably been living under a rock in recent months. His first three singles on Exceptional ('My Style', 'Calm' and 'Let me Breathe') all received widespread acclaim from the breakbeat community and also enjoyed notable support from Radio 1 and Xfm. DJ support has come from the Plump DJS, Crystal Method, Krafty Kuts, FreQ Nasty, Stanton Warriors, Rennie Pilgrem, DJ Hyper, Atomic Hooligan, Breakfastaz, Annie Mac and Pete Tong to name but a few.

The Rogue Element's debut album 'Rogue Rock' was released last year and was a diverse and captivating fusion of hip hop, rock and house music in addition to breakbeat. The album's success was confirmed when Ben picked up the Best Breakthrough Producer award at Breakspoll 2006! Let's welcome Ben in his first ever visit to Vancouver.

Thanks for reposting this Cece... Weird how the original thread was deleted.

Sheps -- I've been travelling for the past 4 weeks for work consecutively and are down in LA again for E3 this week. I haven't been checking my emails closely and will do that when I return on Friday.

Azim called and let me know that tickets for this one are moving quickly because of the late announcement so thanks to everyone for rushing to the stores to pick them up!
