MIke Jones @ PLush
Not only the worst hip hop but the worst event i've ever been to in my life period. $50 for that? What different was that from any clubbing nite which only costs $10 for cover. No more to add for now since im still pretty pissed at how bad this turned out. Peace

haha .. the stress involved doing these shows is INSANE .
good job josh, rio everyone else involved in getting him thru all the adversity that came along the way in him just arriving here on time. Soon as I got that phone call at 1230 .. thats when the party started. Everyone i talked to say it was a crazy show .. Mike Jones really does deliver a spectacular live performance. Didnt go nearly as smooth as we all wouldve liked. . but end result . he did rock the shit outta plush. thats the bottom line. Best Tracks were : Screw Dat Still Tippin (SICKKK) Back Then FLossiN! |

Shows in general rarely go smooth. Hip Hop or Live shows "almost" never do.
Doing live shows with larger/named artists means their personal and technical riders are a mile long and every detail on it needs to be taken care of. This is assuming of course they get on the plane in the first place and get past customs (most tend to have some kind of criminal record it seems which always delays them.) I wasn't at the show, but props for getting the dude to the show no matter how late he actually got there. |

The club let us go till 215 so he could do a 45 min set u left pretty much when he came on,we were saying MJ in 10 over and over but thats what we were being told as well. It's too bad u left you shoulda gave it another min but i understande I also thought it was BS but what can u do like Kraig said with shows like this things never allways go 100%

another thing that should be considered is how theres no such thing as a start time for a hip hop headliner.
Of the 6 hip hop shows ive worked with.. only once was the headliner out on time. They work on their own schedule .. so even if MJones was there for the start .. he wouldve done it his way. As for the MCs sayin hes comin out .. THeyre just as clueless as the crowd. Its not like theyre backstage kickin it w/ the headliners.. its all about crowd hype. Theyre doin their job. And if it means anything.. none of the opening acts knew anything of the situation. He came out around 130 .. rocked it till almost 230 from my watch. I still give his overall performance a 9.5/10 - Considering the circumstances he was dealing with (no soundcheck, no DJ, no rehearsals)... he still came out and gave vancity a power perfromance. The crowd was goin insane.. In the end thats what matters most. Last edited by stimulant j; Jun 09, 06 at 06:00 PM. |
