6/24/06 Dj Icey @ Richards
Well aside from missing Influenza (doh!) I had a rocking time. Icey threw down some steller tones, I was impressed for the most part. I heard one or two oldies, a handful of UK reggae, and a mass of new cuts. Letdown he didn't play Drummatic Twins 'Feeling Kinda Strange' I was really looking forward to hearing it. Deekline and Wizard 'All Your Love' was a highlight tune. I'm trying to build a tracklist but I gotta hunt out a bunch of track titles (I'm the worst with names).
Wishing the place was about 1/3 more busy but it didn't matter. This was a night of breaks not buddies, not that it's too shabby catching up with old faces. Is Richards always that hot? I mean someone turn on the A/C or atleast chill your beers a couple notches down. Us hairful type were in serious discomfort. All in all I was a little over excited for this show. After listening to all the recent Icey goods I could get my hands on this week, in comparison to what he can play I would give his set a 7/10. I know he had bad ass CD's in that book.. whyyyyy not bring em out ya douche. See ya next round at KraftyKuts.. the name will produce the people. Shame 'Icey' isn't at that same popularity anymore. I still :love1: him. Rave cred to homeboy on stage, you were the party rocker. Special mention to the dude in white who challenged on the floor, dude you 'fake slapped' me so I burned your ass, they call me crazy legs ya hear. Well fun for the moment. |

Thanks for these notes peeps.
This was the first time Azim and I have actually done a show at Richards and as a result I learned a lot from working with the venue. It's given me a lot of ideas and changes to bring to the table for the Krafty and Freestylers shows. Don't forget tickets are already available for both Krafty (Friday, July 21st) and The Freestylers (Thursday, August 10th) online at www.clubzone.com/twisted AND at Boomtown and Beatstreet! |
