I have been playing for 6 years now. Started when I was 15 when my older brother got decks and haven't looked back since. What orignally hooked you into the DJing scene? Older brothers and a fake I.D pretty much. I got to see the club/rave culture at a very early age and got into the djing side of it right away. What type of music do you specialize in? I play the entire gamut of drum and bass and breakbeats. My first love was Hip Hop and Metal which I guess would explain why I love drum and bass so much. I don't know exactly in which category I fit, as my sets can vary from liquid rollers to heavy drum and bass...whatever suits the mood I guess. What events have you played at? I haven't put anything out yet, but will very shortly. What do you like the most abour Djing? Just the fact that when your mixing, you're not thinking about anything else other than the mix and the moment. Any stress or shit on your mind gets wiped out when you mix, it's almost relaxing. Not to mention seeing people go off during a sick mix. What does your DJ name signify? It's my ode to all the other Flex's before me haha. The original cats that made hip hop and thus breakbeats what it is today. And Pete comes from everyone calling me Pete, although my name is Pierre. Take your pick. Do you have your own company? I am currently a co-founder of Future Roots, along with Slim Pickins and Phatcat. We are a music promotions company specializing in great drum and bass events and memorable parties at a low cost and with all that old school flavor of the past that made parties so sick. We currently have members in all three major western canadian cites being, Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary. Watch out for all our future events in British Columbia and Alberta!
