karma

when you want so badly to 'hate' someone for something so wrong that they have done to you, but all you can think is that the truth is you've done the exact same thing and it must have felt just like this.

my own medicince tastes like buckleys

Shannon, it takes a big person to admit that.

Take comfort in knowing that if nothing else.

I find the qualities we most despise in someone else are often qualities we dislike about ourselves. It's a hard thing to realize.

Edit- oh and avana is totally right!

after realizing this the question then becomes, do you forgive & forget or take these lessons and move on in life?

Shannon, personally, I believe in do unto others, what goes around comes around, karma, whatever you want to call it.

I think forgive and forget, and take it as a lesson learned.

You don't need to be best friends with the person, but a truce of sorts is a good start.

if its all or nothing, even if you yourself may be guilty of coming off like a hippocrite i think it's entirely justifiable to take out the trash in your life.

if someone has made you feel so awful it's unforgivable to you, sometimes its best to let go.

even if you've been guilty of the same things in the past, you may have changed as a person and you don't want to be around or condone certain things any longer.

though i guess it's hard to be helpful without knowing what's going on, i think more people need to understand that sometimes it's ok to let go, sometimes offering a truce and having that person around a lot can be a constant reminder of hurt you've felt.

self-realization is a huge step in becoming really comfortable in your own skin, and feeling honest about yourself. when you see that you have the same availabilty to fault as others it becomes much easier to accept theirs.
kudos.

wow totally took the words right out of my mouth! Even the buckleys part. It's a step forward that you realized what you had done. Now you can move on and know not to make the same mistake twice. Or at least that is the way that I think of it.
