Well you don't have to like his music to respect what he's accomplished... I mean I'm a fan myself but I can totally see how someone wouldn't like/listen to him.

Remember.... musical taste is a personal thing!! You can't hate on someone for liking something different than you. You can joke about it and make fun of them for totally sucking but HATE... that's a no-no!

that's definately above "ah-ha" because you say "by george i've got it!" when you've been puzzling over something for quite sometime, but it's not as good as the "eureka". you'd say "by george i've got it!" when you solve a murder mystery.

He made that remark in the 1980s I believe - when AIDS and HIV were widely misunderstood and homosexuality was still largely shunned by society
I am not condoning the remark, merely trying to make some sense of it. I think when he participated in the film Philidelphia that his sentiments about homosexuals changed (and people are allowed ot change for the better IMO)

Neil Young is political faster than he thinks most of the time. His views go from pro- patriot act (immediatley after 9/11) to his most recent album that slams Bush and talk about impeaching him, of course, Neil has remained Canadian and cannot even vote is his current state of California. He did the same thing with Nixon -
He makes a lot of the same sounding music repeatedly, but I think that music sounds good - and in concert he is rockin'

So I wouldn't hesitate to answer the question myself, but I can understand why people who are informed about his career and choices might take a moment or two to compose their thoughts.

BTW- being Canadian is not reason enough for me to like someone's music - otherwise I'd have to be a big Celine or Avril fan, and , NO THANKS to that
