Can't play music!

This is really annoying.. I'm in need of tech support. For a while now, Winamp has been crapping out on me (Winamp has encountered a problem and needs to close, yadda yadda). My first instinct was to re-install it, but for some reason that didn't solve anything. My second idea was "I guess I'll have to use Itunes"... but that's doing the exact same thing?!?

Is my computer controlled by evil spirits? And, if so, is there some sort of ritualistic dance I should perform to remove them?

does your computer produce any type of sound... like when windows comes up you hear the windows startup theme?

Yes.

This is a problem with programs crashing. But before they crash, yes they play the music.

have you installed any previous codec packages like divx?.... Sometimes they will have some audio codecs in there that can fuck up other programs...

run it in safe mode with networking to be sure.

if they do crap out on you again, you might want to reinstall windows. or try wmp
winamp is a bag of ass.. but itunes is stellar and im not too sure why its crapping out on you.
