Tom Lee Music WTF is going on?
Alright.... So I decided to invest into turntables.... So initially I was going to purchase the tables from long and mcquade since the tt500's go for 399.99 each.... So I had to drive to langley.... I went back home and went to tom lee music to check things out.... Talked with the guy that I purchased some midi controllers off and told him about my purchase at L&M and he told me that he would be able to price match them and I wouldn't have to go to langley.... So given that offer I decided to cancel the order of the tt500's from L&M and ordered the turntables with Tom Lee music since its closer to where I live and all. So I get the turntables... 1 turntable in excellent condition works fine... the other turntable worked a little weird... Had a strange backwards motion when the platter would stop turning this was with or without power... Aside to that the platter appears to have been spinning at the proper rpm speed as it should, however it was a little concerning because the other turntable didn't work.
So I decided to email numark to see what they thought about it.... I thought maybe its just a matter of time for the motor to "break in" and it would stop doing it however the response back from numark indicated that there was something wrong with the turntable and I should either bring it back to the retailer or have it serviced... So since I was in the return policy I decided to contact the guy at tom lee music and tell him what was up. He told me "ok not a problem man will order out a turntable and it should be here next wednesday" gotta order it from the granville store (they have large shipments every wednesday), I said "ok cool". However that following saturday I decided to go downtown and pickup some vinyl and I decided to drop by the granville tom lee music... I went over at the dj section talked the guy about my incident and said that a turntable was coming from this store to abby. The guy looked within the system and saw nothing since they didn't even have any in stock... So he tells me "well they probably ordered it from the richmond or coquitlam stores..."..... ok.... found that a little strange... So Wednesday comes, check my voicemail didnt' notice a message... So I decide to give the guy from tom lee a call and he tells me..... "Ya the guys screwed up on the order, I'll expedite it courier should be here on friday"..... So friday it is.... friday again comes and go's...... still no phone call... I call the store up to see what is going on.... and the guy tells me "Don't know whats happening bro sorry check back next wednesday"..... So then that next wednesday comes still nothing.... however the next day being thursday I get a call saying "I'll be here today" (being friday). So I packed up the turntable to return it and go to pickup the other one..... only to open the box in the trunk of my car and notice that there is no rca cable...... no power cable..... missing the light... counterweight was already on the tone arm.... no manual.... the clip that holds the tone arm is broken. just the turntable the platter and the s tone arm and the mat..... The guy I purchased it from that handles the dj stuff was not in today will only be there on sunday so I'll have to figure out with him what the fuck is going on here, aside to the people at the counter I showed them this and I have the original turntable back in the meantime.... With there luck I have a big amount of patience but this is kinda getting overboard..... So ya thought I would share with with you all.... I'll update any information as it comes available here..... Go into the store, grab the guy at the counter, smack him across the face and say "BITCH, GO GET ME MY TURN TABLES BEFORE I PULL OUT THE BABY POWDER!!!"
Or, if not, Hound them like never before. Sometimes with things like this they may hope that if it takes long enough that you wont bother, because they may loose money on something like this and hope you just give up. I would say just hound the hell out of them. Or, even send another email to Numark explaining what kinda shit you're dealing with from these guys and tell them your not pleased with the customer service in regards to the Numark brand and how this store is dealing with the issue at hand. |

I remember when first buying my mixer at master plan. I was going after a stanton and when I got home the knobs where off and pushed inside a bit. Went back a week later and exchanged it no problem. Funny enough one of the channels didnt work in the 2nd one I brought home. Went back a week later to excahnge again... only they had no other mixers in that model. So they gave me $50 off a simular virsion Vestex. Never had a single problem in 6 years.
Guess those things are a hassel, but DJ equipment isnt mass marketed so its hard to get the right stuff in a short convienent time. |
