M-Audio Torq
I picked it up today, ordered it over a month ago, got everything up and running. So far it sucks!
It does not want to work with my CDJ-200, it will work for a second then just go into a frenzy, and there's major feedback coming from the Connectiv unit, nfi. So far it's been a total nightmare, and i'm way too sick to be even attempting the troubleshooting. I'm going back to bed, bah! |

nah, something else isint working - I plugged in my second deck and it does the same thing as the CDJ, the track just wobbles back and forth making a disorted sound, I tinker with the inputs in the prefrences menu and it eventually works, but that's only on Amputate mode for some fucked up reason.
And nobody can subscribe to the torq forums because the auth code doesen't display! |

hah. after much troubleshooting I figured out the problem - IRQ conflict with my docking station, when I plugged the Connectiv unit directly into the laptop it worked.
So far Torq works well, it's a good advantage of being able to play music without the vinyl. (cheaper then vinyl, too.) I also got the Trigger Finger, haven't really used it yet. |

Good to hear, keep us updated on how this works out for you, I should have one arriving in the next week. I figured for the price it was worth checking out.

^I've noticed the same thing, I just end up using my gain to bring it up to the same level. I've only been using torq for a few days now, it seems pretty good so far except for a couple of things. I haven't found any show stoppers yet.
Your running OSX right? |

Yea, OSX here - I've been bringing my channel level to about -10 which sort of evens it up vs vinyl - still kind of a bitch though, Just used to playing with my gains at a certain level - always feels like i'm redlining the shit out of hte track even though I'm barely touching the reds...

^ really? I think it's just a matter of fixing the pre-amps or the RIAA Curve. You can adjust the line inputs via the software by clicking on the Line button in the Torq mixer and the EQs, Gains, and channel volumes affect the track volume - so it's hopefully just a matter of a driver update...
on an aside, I used Torq in a live situation last night - worked pretty well - granted the sound for the club wasn't the greatest, but i couldn't really hear much difference between vinyl and digital. no crashes - not even so much as a hiccup. :) |
