being deaf in one ear.
"Temporarily"...from what I've been told, but since yesterday..having gone to the clinic...I've been told I've got the discusting pleasure of having a build up of earwax...(lovley). I can't hear a thing out of my left ear at all..
I feel very off.. So far im using drops to soften each ear, and then im getting them flushed on Saturday morning.. Ah..yes....like a picnic in springtime...with lillies...and frolicing...and kittens.. My weekend...of death. It sucks...I dont remember the last time I went without listening to music...playing music...even the rhythm in my head is starting to hurt.. I've come to the conclusion that I very much dislike hearing myself chew.. This is not enjoyable at all. I do have a newfound appreciation for those of which that deal with this from day to day..though i'll never know what it's like.. I just hope I can solve this soon.... I dont know how much longer I can take this. . Last edited by Rayeine; Feb 09, 07 at 05:22 PM. |

This is kind of a gross thread...i am aware of this. But yours lasted for 2 weeks? Did the irratable pirate eventually wave so long...and sail away? |

may sound silly but it can work.... take a hot shower and chew gum at the same time. hopfully the heat will melt it enough and the chewing will flex the muscles a bit...
that or just go to cyber tonight and I am sure the drum and bass will clear it for you.. |

haha yes...I am quite looking forward to the music after this..
I should take up some suggestions for what I should listen to first... but I think it has to be Slayer... .....ohh how look forward to that time. (especially if my hearing does happen to be heightened) |

^DONT!!...
honestly if this experience taught me anything it's the sensitivity of poking around in there. It aint no peice of chocolate cake...you cant just stab at it as you may....you've got to be dainty...delicate... like a ballet or something...(but then again it may depend on the cake) but still...Dont go deeper.....it leads to the dark side....and thus to suffering.. Thanks :) , i am quite happy to hear again.. Last edited by Rayeine; Feb 10, 07 at 01:37 PM. |

Im addicted to cotton swabs, but like ppl describe, I try to carve around than push into your ear. One Dr. told me I didn't have to use them so often (2-3 times a week) and that once a week was enough as your ear has a natural way of cleaning them selfs on their own. Which i think is bollix since so many ppl have yucky yellow ear snot in them. Also I believe its best to clean them right after a shower or bath when our ear is much softer. |

I think it's because I was so used to having the full hearing..that it was too hard to do so. I have a few friends who are deaf in both ears that I've met through sign language interpreting that found it completley halarious...(they've mocked me merciessly the past few days..haha...) But yes, i suppose I could have listened to music... I did try it at first, but I found that being used to both ears, and having used them every day of my life, was very difficult...to have one wave so long....It's like wearing an eye patch...it takes time to for the focus in the other eye..Im sure i could have gotten used to it, but it would have taken me some time to weave it on into my life...ya feel me? :) |
