My purse and the contents are valued at over $1000..and thats not including any cash or credit cards I have in my wallet. I really need to not carry so much stuff with me. I always worry about it at the gym.

Even with a disclaimer like that, I am surprised that the gym hasn't taken measures to ensure that stops happening. I would be taking my money elsewhere if that were the issue at my gym....

I agree....but what are you going to do when you are say, for instance, on your way home from work?

Lock your belongings in your car?

There has to be a reasonable assumption that even though it isn't their responsibility they are going to avoid fostering that environment, or encouraging it to happen. I would be taking it up with management if it was a documented issue and advising that my business would be going elsewhere if something wasn't done to prevent it from happening again. Obviously the person who is doing it, is aware they are getting away with it....

If all else fails, set up a steakout and give the guy the wedgie of a lifetime, then have him arrested.
