My work blocking every website but FNK

Every single website I try to go to they have blocked.

But for some reason, they haven't blocked FNK lol.

I thought it would of been one of the first. :S

I am going to go out on a limb here and guess your work is trying to discourage surfing on the net.

Suck it up, you are on their dime, using their internet, and their computers.

AT WORK ONCE WE BLOCKED EVERY WEBSITE FOR A GUY EXCEPT GOOGLE AND THE CAR FORUM HE POSTED ON, JUST TO SEE HOW LONG IT WOULD TAKE HIM TO NOTICE (1.5 DAYS)

ya my work does it to, whatever at least they havent blocked everything from your use,

try web messenger, they havent found that one for my work yet.

haha... my work's the same. i cant go to myspace. which is alright i guess, can i can go on facebook.
i dont think fnk is well known among the business class type people.
my last job was worse. i couldnt even check my yahoo mail!!!
but, true true, it IS their time. still, i'd be really bored without the internet at work. its hard to look busy all day when there's not enough to keep you going all day.

I use it on my break, never when I am working (I do my job thanks), because my work is on Lougheed highway and there is nothing to do around here during it.

And they started blocking websites because my work was bought out by a bank. That's what they told us.

I can check my google mail and hotmail but nothing else.

You're still on their computers, so I still don't see why you think you have a valid complaint.

Unless a company offers a lounge with public use computers, you don't have a valid complaint. And even then, your complaint is still not that valid because they have the right to limit access.

I was just stating it was annoying. The managers complain about it too. I know they have the right to limit access. I can still say its annoying. I never said they couldn't do it.

More or less I was saying that wouldn't you think FNK would of been blocked by now with all the swearing and what not.

They used to send stupid silly youtube videos to us (or they did through or work emails). And it does seem like they have been doing a good job since they were just bought out by a fairly large bank and took over another floor in the buliding here. But I don't have to justify it being annoying

learn portforwarding and set yourself up a proxy.

All you need is 1 open outgoing port and it can be done.

i used to do this at my old job, not only does it circumvent the blocking issue, but it encrypts your surfing habbits keeping your employer from seeing what you're doing.

i used to do that at one of my old jobs too. i think this article helped, though it changed since i used it.

I port forwarded using htport at Stream, and hacked one of MCI's linux boxes, IRC'd and used lynx to surf the web (which was a pain in the ass) - at RMH.

Remember that, gusto? hah

I still have the whitepaper I sent to IBM about that.
