Pot Paraphernalia

I don't understand why people wear representations of pot leaves. I mean no other drug has the same kind of merchandising as marajuana does. What is with this need to sport a leaf? I mean I've seen shirts, posters, necklaces, earrings, rings and underwear for god sakes. I just don't get it. You don't see people who do coke walking around with white powder on their shirts. Why this drug? How has it some how managed to become some sort of cultural icon.

Pot paraphernalia is somewhat sad, I mean you can do a drug but you don't have to label yourself with it.

anyway...:multi:

because people support it. they don't believe it should be illegal and even feel that it would be beneficial to have it decriminalized. plus, they probably enjoy using it a whole lot.

you can't wear coke cuz coke is clearly highly addictive and would sporting any sort of representation of it would probably stigmatize you as some sort of coke junkie.

that's just my opinion.

Its Pot. Compared to any other drug, pot is harmless. Many people (especially in B.C) are for legalization or decriminalization. I was watching the news and they were saying how we are moving closer and closer to decriminalization, but it would mean we would get fined for getting caught with any on ous.

That's a good point. Although I doubt that half the "stoners" out there actually have a good argument behind with marajuana should be legalized besides the fact that they don't want to be fined or what not. I work in a store that sells pot merchandise and I can't believe how many people think it is "so cool". I think that there is probably more to it than some petty political statement. When you wear a pot leaf is defines part of you to strangers just as having a coke t-shirt would, the difference is that pot has less negative connotations.

I enjoy things and don't need a t-shirt to say so. But I guess that's just me.

anyone wearing marijuana clothing and accessories has a problem being stigmatized as a lolapalooza reject.

imho, that's worse than a coke junkie. at least coke junkies have money.

A gram of coke........$80 (average price)
A gram of weed......$10 (average price)

I'd rather have a half oz of weed than a gram of coke. Thats probably cause I've never tried coke.......But the half oz of weed sounds more appealing to me
