Car Theives!!!!!!!!!
Whats wrong with people. I just dont understand! I had someone break into my car last night at metrotown and steel my brand new Cd deck that I got for my birthday not even 1 week ago! they even tore apart my dash board now I have to go to ICBC and pay a $300 deductable for something that I didnt do!!!!!!!!
AHHHH i just had to vent! |

I know what you mean.
I decided to move my parking spot from a 14 hour guarded location to one that has a secured gate with remote since I wanted the 'cool' remote. I was just fucking stupid of something. Anyway, the SECOND DAY I parked there someome broke into my car and ripped out my CD player but left the power supply, basically they have a useless deck. I go to ICBC and they have a $1000 cap for the equipment and the replacement cost was $1400! I got burned for an extra $400 plus the decuctable AND the hassle of the broken window. *sigh* Make sure you like the quality of the repairs before you sign off. They have to fix it until you do. |
|
|||
When they increased the deductible from $100 to $300 I freaked out.
You are right. What is the point in paying so much for car insurance when if someone breaks into your car you have to pay even more? I guess they want to eliminate the 'small' claims which doesn't benefit us. If you get you $200 deck ripped off, why would you pay $300 to ICBC to get it replaced? And people wonder why some people take advantage of the system when they get a chance. |
|
|||
so u know what u do. get someone else's receipt and get yourself some better equipment. But for ppl who really put money into their system's it's a fuckin hassle. Hell, my ICBC won't even cover the price of my deck, never mind speakers, subs, amps

^^^^crime is a job
i'm not trying to justify what the ppl who stole yer shit did but as a friend of a lotta ppl who do alotta crime i must say that ..... ummmm k i just woke up so my brain isn't quite werking properly but what i'm trying to say is......uhhh....k it was wrong but do you mind if i ask what kind of car you drive?? cuz usually the 'better' car theives go for the relly nice cars, BMW's, audi's, mercedes, etc. and usually those ppl dont get tooo upset over losing or damagaing a car, its ther opportunity to drive a new truck instead of an SUV, or whatever. but whoever took yer guys' stuff was prolly just a couple of stoopid teenagers lookin fer a rush or tryin to make a little extra cash. ther just idiots. and as far as icbc goes yes they are a bunch of useless tits. ummm yeah stealing is bad, so is violence, the world isn't perfect, please don't hate me cuz i'm beautiful..... |

ya, but they're worth it when you getinto an accident.
like my parents, got totally rear ended. just under $6000 in damage. they only had o pay a $200 deductible becuse the guy who did it never claimed it. i'd rather pay $200 than $6000.. ouch, but for small things.. fucking i don't htink it's worth it to go to them. they suck in that way. sucks that you got your car broken into though.. stupid people.. |
|

I drive a 1996 Dodge Neon Sport. I just finished at ICBC and I pay a $300.00 deductable but all the damages came to around $500 so I suppose I save. And yes Crime is a job but a job for lazy people. Or people who cant get another job. anyways I guess whats done is done, but its sad that it was my bday present

Insurance it fine for when you get into an accident and that is what it is primarily for.
It's just when you get nailed with these insane deductibles for smaller items that I shake my head. When I got my CD unit ripped off it took a month of convincing before ICBC agreed to order areplacement from California. |

filo - actually i am a fairly smart 'kid' and i'd appreciate it if you didn't judge me by my friends. i met alot of them when i was homeless and jobless, and if you have ever been in that position you'd know that it is very hard to find a legit job without a fixed address. also yes i do believe in karma and i'm sure it will in some way come back to them, but please don't try and tell me that you've led a perfect life either?? i'm not saying you've stolen anything, but nobody's perfect, i'm sure you've done some things in your life in which karma will get you for as well. just a little something to think about
mamacita - i do feel for you, i've had alotta my stuff stolen over time as well, but just try and remember that its all just material items. as long as you have your health, and ppl who love you thats all that should relly matter, but i also realize that in todays society, unfortunate as it is, material possesions hold alot of meaning to ppl...so yeah |

yah im not feeling so bad anymore...Its just the initial shock of oh my god my new deck has been stollen! But honestly I'm getting another one this Saturday so I will just have to be more careful about where I park ect. Who knows maybe if I wasnt delayed by this I could have left right away and gotten into a car accident.
"everything happends for a reason" as for ICBC though :finger: |

yeah they broke into my car in my own drive way..did 1500 dollars damage to my car and stole just $1000 worth of stereo equiptment so i was under the cap.
heh, atleast i have nicer stuff now. but it was a total pain in the ass. yeah crime is a job..a job for fuckin drug addicts. it was a crackhead who broke into my car. Last edited by SEAN!; Oct 31, 02 at 05:01 PM. |

its because of people who used to pull insurance scams and get people to steal their shit.. or sell their shit and claim it stolen.
but if you cared enough about your deck you should've taken the face plate off thats why they invented it... but sometimes that doesn't even work... yea car theivs are gay... unless they steal your car and burn it to shit and you were trying to sell it.. then its good mutha fuckin times! :Peenutt: |
|

oh i know this better then anyone.
holy crap...my poor car its' been broken into i think four or five times now. once in walnut grove...i got my cd's stolen outta my car twice downtown: i eventually had to replace the locks on one side twice... and then replace the other lock and repaint the whole side of my car then at a party last year some drunken fucker threw beer bottles thru my back window...i drove home in the snow with no back window.. i've had to pay almst 500 bucks in deductibles to get my car fixed...so not fucking worht it. |
|
|||
Sean, you would think you would have the passanger window fixed and the cover on there door though :Pheeheehee
yeha, ong.. krista's car gets the bloody worse! I dunno wuts up with gretta but.. everyone likes to pick on here.. snashed windows.. ppl breaking in.. ppl backing into her car.. like wut the fuck!? WHERE IS THE RESPECT PEOPLE! as for people living on the street.. Theres ALWAYS a way out.. yeah.. you dont have a fixed address.. but start small and work your way up.. get a fucking paper route for christs sakes.. dont steal people shit.. other wise It hink you deserve to get a base ball bat to your teeth.. and if you have dirty habbit.. then lose though and get back on your feet. If you put your mind to getting some where and not being homeless you can do it, you just have to give up a few things.. and if you dont.. then maybe having a place to live doesnt really mean anything to you. Also theres welfare(yeah, thouse we all hate how ppl are on it), use that for like a few months to get your self going and find yourself a few jobs.. but ALSO you will still have to have to give up all those fun things.. oi.. I could go on.. but I'll shut up now~! |

mister_penut: I did remove my faceplate I put it in the trunk. The security guards at metrotown said that they think the car theives were watching me get out of my car and put it in there.
soooo creepy! I also told them that I think they should get cameras set up there or patrol the parking lots more... but who knows if they will.... |
|
|||
no no!!!
You NEVER EVER put anything in your trunk when you get to a mall, ESPECIALLY in underground parking. Take off your faceplate and put it in your purse...they usually keep a far enough distance that they won't be able to see what's going on inside the car. |
|
|||
^^ exactly.
always remove the faceplate. that's why you can get a case so you can put it in your bag and it won't get scratched up or anything. don't put things in your trunk especially since most cars you can get into the trunk through the backseat, so even fi it's locked, it's not safe. |
