Huge conglomerate monopoly companies!
Ok ...
I have a little bit of steam to let off regarding all these GIANT companies that buy out other companies and raise prices and fuck the consumer over royally. I'm sure some of you have heard the horror story about our favorite beverage "SOBE" which used to be one of my most favorite drinks after/before raves before it was bought out by Pepsi. Obviously the Snapple/Fruitopia craze has died down and Pepsi got their hands on "SOBE" 1st. Lame:047: The other one now is with "POLARIS WATER" (which I work for) which is being bought out by a company that owns CANADIAN SPRINGS. So essentially there will be no more POLARIS soon which it turn leaves me without a job because of the downsizing. It seems most of the guys who have been there for 3-5 years will be taken over to Canadian Springs whereas the fresh blood (myself) are shit outta luck. Canadian Springs pushes a product called "R.O." which is "Reverse Osmosis" which is purified tap water. And they have the nerve to raise prices and tax the public for this BRITA-WATER. Bunch of scam artists. Our parents already pay for the city to purify the water. Canadian Springs "RO"is like paying a second tax for them to clean it a little more. So in one sense you’re getting double-taxed on it. WEAK. The "immoral" part of this story is I will be looking for new work soon.FUCK!(me>):016: (<Canadian Springs) Which might be a great change for me. Now not all mergers have negative effects. Take for instance the Rogers/Shaw merger. Never in my life was I so happy about such a merger. Rogers cable had to have been one the biggest jokes this province has seen. They claimed to have HIGH-SPEED internet when really it was a bunch of shit because of all the capping of the modems because too much bandwidth was being used by geeks who downloaded around the clock (napsters, porn, illegal software, dvd rips and full audio cd's) and made the average user have slower speeds. Because each neighborhood is basically on a small network they had no idea to regulate each persons use. Now because they had no way to regulate exactly how much bandwidth one could use they capped the modems. Capping a modem shrinks the speed of your connection and makes your connection comparable to a 56k modem. Then SHAW came in and kicked some serious ass. They straightened out everything and I was able to get 500k download speeds. It's usually 200-300 but on a good day I’ve seen it soar. They now limit each household to 6gigs/download/month. Way better than capping modems. I bitched my head off at the service Rogers gave and received 3 months free. Ya gotta bitch sometimes to get your way. Die Rogers Die! I feel so much better.. Time to :009: |

AHK! useless! *shakes fist at canada springs* and about the rogers/shaw thing. DAMN! i left rogers kuz they pissed me off. i'm with telus now. and its not bad. but sometimes its so fuking slow. *shakes fist at slow connections* :003: |

After having worked for a large obnoxious corporation, I have realized that I use them as much as they use me, it's a symbiotic relationship where everyone is happy if balance is maintained. As for service, I expect little from corporations due to the fact that they don't give a shit. Mergers, well, they're great if you're a consumer because it usually means lower prices. Well, not always, but at least sometimes. They simply suck if you're an employee, especially a new one. So good luck dealing with the pricks.
