Registration
So my registration day is tomorrow...the 2nd to last day out of everyone and I found out today that every single class I want is full. Now I've gotta figure out a whole new schedule with shitty courses....*sigh*

oh i know wut ya mean. today was my reg. date, and i wanted to take sociology but it was all full.. I had this whole schedule planned out too, but it didn't quite work out the way i wanted to. and you have a 15 min. time limit on the phone
I tried registering on the web. THAT SYSTEM IS FUCKED I TELL YA! waste of my time.. my finger just hurt from pressing the redial button ever other second for telephone reg. ubc's registration system on the web actually works, sfu's sucks... good luck on registration, make sure to keep in mind many different alternatives.. cuz I had trouble finding availabe courses as well :P

that's so weird yoko and starsprite.
I thought first year students get first priority on registering! I had my registration on the 20th. took me 20 minutes to get through and got all the courses I wanted, except for one, which I'm trying to get the tutorial an hour before the one I'm registered for. /me is happy :) yoko: don't even bother using the web. I learned it the hard way in my first semester. I was trying to get through for 2 hours before I called the registrar who told me that the web system is fucked and to use the phone. :( anyways, just try getting the courses the week classes starts. people are ALWAYS dropping. good luck! --Joanne :P

All three of us go to SFU
joanne.. really? Naw my reg. date was the 27th (this morning) i actually did end up getting satisfying courses thogh, so I'm okay with it, i just wouldn't have minded getting sociology but it was ALL full. The upside is that I have no classes on fridays.. weee long weekend every weekend :) yeah I figured about the web. after trying, and trying for like half an hour, I just stuck to the old system. Ya I've got a list of ALL the courses I wanna take/need to take. Hah rite now I have a schedule that I might get because a couple of them still have spots available. I'll end up with 3 courses and only have to go on tuesdays and thursdays and be done by 1:20 each day!! :D But I doubt it'll end up happening like that. *sigh* I really wanna take Dancing in Cyberspace cuz 1. I'm a dancer 2. I love computers and 3. I need 2 FPA courses but apparently it's full. And ya the computer is a complete waste of time even though tomorrow morning I'm gunna be on my house phone, cell phone and trying on the computer! Now I have to go finish my english paper ggrr.

Sociology is shit! Well it is to me...I have to go and talk to my TA tomorrow cuz I couldn't make it to class on friday for family reasons and he said he couldn't accept my journals. They are 20% of my grade which I need and I worked really hard on them. I hate the sociology prof too...

Yay! I ended up getting the dancing in cyberspace course and I've been trying for kinesiology all day and I just got it now. This is sweet. I have 4 courses and I need all of them! :D No more registration hell!

FPA 226 is an interdisciplinary course designed to extend the creative and performative possibilities of dance and movement-based theatre into the cybernetic realm. Emphasis will be placed on exploring the new conceptual spaces opened up by human creative imagination and new technologies. The Internet will be a special focus of activity. Issues of relevance to the artist and to society raised through the exploration of human/machine interactive processes will be studied alongside practical creative projects. Students will learn to create work on the computing platform using a range of 3D Animation and Design Programs. Motion Capture, Telematic Transmission and Geo Spatial technologies will also feature as creative options. Some computer literacy is highly recommended.
^^^That's the course description. It's under fine and performing arts so I dunno...I think it'll be pretty cool and it says it would count for my certificate of liberal arts! That would be so sweet if it really did but it doesn't say so on my sheet... :)
