they are all too small! trust meeh.. the ones you see around nowadays are made about 1/2 to smalll for your record sleaves.. If you can find an old 1 from about the 70s-80s then your happening. It took me like 6 months of searchin the back of grocery stores and restraunts to find one that worked.. Good luck!

agreed. unless you can find an old one like precise is talking about. Fortunately at my work they haven't returned their milk crates for years!

i wanna know how they warp records

it may just be me.... but it seems rediculous to spend 150 on a rekkid box that for teh most part will stay in one spot

milk crates were redesigned in the eighties to be too small for records because too many people were lifting them for their record collections. the dollar stores sell plastic packing crates for around $6-10 that fit records great and hold more than a milk crate, but the handles are pretty sharp plastic, so you have to wrap them with duct tape to save your hands. they are great for gigs when you need more than just a bag...the ultimate record storage tools are the big orange chicken bins from sunrise poultry processors. if you work at a restaurant that has these try and jack a couple. they are super heavy duty, hold way more than a milk crate (roughly 3 times as much), and because the sides slant out slightly they are east to flip through even when full.

i've never had a problem with records warping in milk crates, maybe if you ram packed them? anyways i've got a bunch of 12" square 1/2" plywood that i use to reinforce the back of my collections.

record boxes are only good if you plan on travelling a lot.....otherwise a bag is way easier to manage. and as much as you can get by with a plastic crate a record bag is a wise investment.

Get file crates they're cheap, and they won't crunch your records. They sell them everywhere, I've seen them at London Drugs, and at WonderBucks (on Commercial and another on Broadway).

Good X-Mas present for friends!

stina.
