Being obsessed with working and making money

and it being july 9th and my motorcycle has not seen the light of day once..

I need to stop working so much, and take some time off to enjoy the summer before i wake up 10 years from now and wonder where my youth went..

Lots of people who are really well off told me they were the same way.... they are over 30 and are living an extremely nice life... luxury cars, houses, partying.. not worrying about money.... extremely hot girls etc etc..

but all of them said that they didn't really get to enjoy their twenties because they were working their asses off so they could retire by the time they were 35...

what would you rather do? party your ass off and live it up in your twenties and have an OK salary for the rest of your life... or work really hard from 20-30 and then be set for life in your early to mid 30's ?

I dont plan to or see myself able to retire in my 30's.., but Id rather work hard now to establish long term financial security so that Im set up for working as little as possible in the future.

P.A.R.T.Y will become famous soon enough
I went to school and worked some half-ass jobs in my 20's. Now in my 30's, I'm making a decent living, not enough to retire anytime soon, but enough to pay the rent and my car insurance. As you get older, you will realize that these are the good ol' days. Summer is a 2 month phenomena in this city and it's best to take advantage of the situation before the rain gods re-appear. Financial security is important, but so are a lot of things. Retiring at 35? No, I didn't think so.
Might as well have some fun, travel a bit, and party it up now while you still can. Some day you'll be 40 and going to a club on Friday isn't gonna be the same. You may even feel a little embarrassed, a little shy that you're that old dude with a water bottle on your head.

its good to have financial security for sure, but what are you livin for? As long as you can take care of yourself, and be comfortable I think you should have as much fun as you can while you can... besides, you never know when it could all be taken away something could happen and you may never get the chance to live it up again, so giv'er all you got while you got it! fun fun fun

I almost started working to retire at 40(ish). But I backed off, had some fun. Got lots of great stories (good and bad, but all a good laugh).
I had fun, I enjoyed my youth and I wouldnt change how Ive lived overall.
Now Im in a good career, working lots (like my 14 hour day today, whew) and Im happy!
While it would be nice to retire early and be rich/well off, I dunno, I would rather enjoy my life while I can. Money or not! I did, and Im happy with my decision.
I think people should make some effort to enjoy their youth. As long as you dont live it for to long (as I see too many people doing so).
