Early parole for predators
edmontonsun.com - Canada - Early parole for Vancouver man
Looks like early parole for this guy. All he did was attack a female jogger in Stanley park. She now can't speak and lives in wheelchair because of brain damage caused by him strangling her. Parole board says he still willing to use violence, but they figure he's served enough of his 7 year sentence (wow, only 7).

They don't seem to value human life as much as they do money...
By that I mean look at the penalties for financial crime - you can easily get life sentence for robbing a bank, but not from strangling someone to the point of paralysis. :S
