if it's brand new, there's no reason it should be operating less than 2 hours.
I'm going to assume you don't have a huge 17" laptop running everything at once, even then most of them got just over 2 hours. A 15" laptop, running a couple notches below top brightness w/ wifi, even on a 6 cell battery, should be much closer to 3 hours. how old is the battery? i'd consider a warranty replacement |

i'd go back to where you bought it (probably a futureshop boxing day special) and just ask them how long the battery is supposed to last. get the sales pitch. then tell them you have it and it only lasts 2 hours. ask for a new one.

It was on sale but it wasn't a boxing day sale. It was on sale before when I was shopping around for one a few weeks ago and it still was a little pricey I wouldn't of got it regular price, but I will be checking with them in the next few days. Thanks!

I'm going to let it die compleatly and charge it and do that. It shouldn't be a problem to sit in front of the laptop for 2 hours lol :cheesy:

ok... Since my job is to really deal with laptop's all day I'll give you examples of what may be contributing to low battery life.
1. An application can be taking priority over the cpu so it can be working at 100%.. Therefore it consume's more power from the battery. 2. Your Power settings is set to "always on" instead of "mobile" or "power saver". 3. Its not uncommon to have your battery lose power faster with a usb device hooked up while using a battery. 4. Heat causes lithium ion batteries to lose its charge alot faster. |
