corporate welfare cases that defraud the taxpayers
tho this aint it, i am gonna rant about hp canada taking perfectly good equipment and trashing it, basically compacting it, just to get a tax write off.
some companies even compact perfectly good computers for the tax write off, because donating it doesn't earn as much. meanwhile schools are hurting for computer equipment. as well, another form of corporate crime is when a hotel owner uses taxpayers dollars to build his hotel and then torches it two month later just to collect the insurance money. canada's previous prime minister did that and got away with it. either way, be it a politician or a business, they waste a lot of our tax dollars this way both side of the border. however, hp canada and jean cretien are the worst. |

as well both nova scotia and newfoundland are owned by corporations.
the irvings own newfoundland lock stock and barrel, while a US coal company owns NS. this is why both provinces have high unemployment. why, newfoundland even has the highest tax rate of 25 percent. and BC will look like them in another 5-15 yrs. |

another example of waste are the thousands of gun control computers that sit in warehouses in ottawa because when the contract was proposed someone bought a lot of 233 MHw computers to run the database software before the design specs were finalized.
when the database was finished, it turned out a 233 MHz computer would just bog down trying to add an entry to it. instead of donating the inventory, the government stored it in warehouses. these computer could still be used to install as Linux servers and be useful, but our Mandarins think it's prudent to use our tax dollars to pay for the rent to warehouse them. |
